To Whom it may concern I received a letter from the Revdex.com regarding a dispute that was filed by *** *** concerning a custom furniture order she placed in December of Below are the details of the instance. ***
placed an order in December for a custom TV cabinet as well as an ft dining room table to be shipped to her house in VTI sent her an invoice on 12/14/for $which covered the cost of the TV cabinet ($1,200) the Table ($2,100) and shipping $This shipping was a standard freight shipping which covered shipping to her house (not unloading or set up in her house.) On 4/14/the table and TV cabinet were taken by the freight company to her houseAt this point all of my responsibilities as a seller were fulfilled*** had ordered a TV cabinet and table to be made and shipped to her house in VT, I built these items and shipped them to her house exactly as she had paid for. However *** refused delivery of the items on the grounds that the freight company would not bring them in her house and set them up for herThese were not sufficient grounds for refusing delivery as this service was never an option and is not a service that I offer or ever discussed with ***I informed *** that she cannot simply refuse delivery and by doing so she would now have to pay for the items to be re-delivered I sent her an invoice of $to cover the re-delivery and she paid it on 4/14/17. Since she was so persistent about wanting the items unloaded into her house and I ultimately wanted to try and do everything I could to make her happyI went out of my way to find a local moving company who would provide this service for her and arranged for them to pick the items up from the shipping warehouse and bring them into her house and set them up for herOn 4/the moving company arrived at *** house and delivered the TV cabinet and TableHowever *** claims there was a small scratch on the surface of the table and on these grounds would not allow the moving company to leave the table at her residence. Again I informed *** that she cannot simply refuse deliveryShe paid for a custom piece of furniture to be delivered to her home and that is exactly what she gotBy refusing delivery it does not remove her responsibility for the items but simply creating a situation where she now has to pay more money to have the items redeliveredShe said that she wouldn't except the items unless they were in perfect conditionI apologized for the scratch and explained that because this was a custom item made specifically for her we do not allow returns or refundsI would however be happy to instruct her how to repair the scratch or find someone locally who could come and repair it for herI told her I would even give her a discount off of the price of the table to cover having someone come fix it, but in order for me to do this she would have to accept delivery of the item as it can not sit indefinitely with the moving company*** refused to accept this as an option and said she would only allow the table in her house in perfect conditionI informed her that if she refused to allow the table to be delivered then she would be "abandoning the item" with the moving company and they would then dispose of the table as they do with any abandoned or left behind items and she would be out the cost of the tableAs far as I know this is the decision she made and I am not aware of where the table is currently. I would like to restate the fact that *** paid for a table and TV cabinet to be custom made for her and shipped to her home in VTI made her a custom table and TV cabinet and made every effort possible to get these items to her in VTIt was *** who made the choice to abandon the table with the moving company and therefore the loss of the table and the price she paid for it falls on her and is not the responsibility of me or my companyI clearly instructed *** that by refusing to allow the table to be delivered she was abandoning the items and would be out the cost of the tablt and that is a decision that she madeI would also like to state that even though it is against my policy to allow returns for custom items I also gave her the option of shipping the table back to me (at her own cost) and I would refund her the price of the table minus shipping and she also refused to consider this as an option. I will not be giving *** a refund for this table as I am not in possession of the tableAs far as I am concerned this matter is closedI am very sorry that it could not be resolved in a way that would be more pleasing to ***.
