We purchased a dog advertised as 11 months old from Boutique Teacup Puppies in Texas (birthdate advertised in on-line add as 5/10/19). This age was maintained by the seller thru several conversations. We paid $5,500 plus $700 delivery fee based on this age since at 11 months old the dog has achieved its full growth. My wife is disabled and the grown size of the dog is very important for her to be able to lift it. The company did not supply the vaccination records, which list the birthdate, until after we paid for and received the dog. The vaccination records list the birthdate, so we received an e-mail stating that the birthdate was actually 10/5/19 and the dog was 7 months old. When we stated that this is not what we paid for and were considering returning the dog we were accused of being superficial and heartless. We then received a call from the owner, Ashley, and she was belligerent and rude. We couldn't hardly get a word in the conversation, she would raise her voice and virtually shout us down, so I finally hung up. Ashley refused to consider a refund or any other adjustment for their error. She also stated that the false advertising was not their fault, it was the fault of their website person. This has the appearance of a scam to get the dog into your home and let you bond with it before admitting to the incorrect advertising. That may not be the case, but based on how we were treated by the owner, and an employee, after the incorrect info was pointed out I am definitely suspicious. I already knew that the dog was not 11 months old based on our Vets evaluation the day after receiving the dog, was waiting for the vaccination records to see what was listed there. I would never have paid $5,500 for a seven month old puppy. Their website even states that the size of a puppy cannot be guaranteed until the dog is 8 months old.

I am rejecting this response because:

There are several incorrect statements in the response from the business as outlined below:

1) The last name for us is incorrect, you would think that they could at least get this correct, but accuracy does not appear to be an issue for them.

2) The statement "Age of the puppy was never discussed with the buyer nor was it a determining factor for purchase" is totally incorrect. On several occasions they stated that with the dog being "almost a year old" that she would not get any larger in stature, just maybe fill out a little. I would never have agreed to pay $5,500 for a 6 month old puppy. The only reason I agreed to this was the age and weight of the advertised as nearly 11 month dog.

3) My wife's age and disabled status was discussed. This is why we were looking for such a small dog.

4) The statement "This puppy was bought by us, originated for Europe" is the first time we knew the puppy was not of US origin. They had told us that due to having so many problems with puppies from overseas they were now sourcing dogs from US sources. More misinformation.

5) The statement "As noted above we offered to assess the puppy's weight at 8 mos when she will be full grown and it was rejected. At 8 mos if her weight and size was vastly off, we would possibly discuss options" is a fabrication. In the call we received the business owner went on a tirade from the second I answered the phone and would not let us get in a word. There was no offer of evaluating a 8 months old and I certainly did not refuse anything since she would not let me say anything. If I tried to interject into the conversation she shouted me down and after listening to her rant for probably 5 minutes I finally hung up.

6) The closing statement to the response "We have attempted to assist with their concerns but thy are just not cooperating with terms that agreed to so there is little that can be done at this point" I guess is supposed to make them sound reasonable. The call we received was anything but reasonable, and it was stated early on in the call that no refund or adjustment would be made. The real point is that they have our money, based on false advertising, and they will not let go of any of it no matter what.

7) Based on the content of the call from the business owner I did not expect to receive any reasonable resolution from them. I do want to warn any others that are going to do business with Teacup Puppies that the owner and representative cannot be trusted to be honest and forthright and EXTREME caution should be exercised in dealing with this company.
