We did refund him
Review: Last year I took My dog to be groomed at this location. When I picked her up she was shivering and shied away from contact. Also, she is a double coated dog and they ruined her coat. Her strange behavior continued for months afterward. I believe she was abused and judging from the Yelp pages so do many other dog owners.Desired Settlement: I would like only to be reimbursed for the exorbitant price of my dog's haircut. Thank you.
Business
Response:
consumer complaint #[redacted]Dear Revdex.com: I have already addressed this issue with this client and my email response is below. She called my business, threatening to use [redacted] (which she tried twice) to blackmail my business if I did not refund her money for a haircut she asked us to perform nearly one year ago. She was rude, illogical, and verbally abusive over the phone. Dear Miss [redacted],
I received a message about your concerned phone call this morning. I
understand that about 10 months ago you asked us to shave your Chow/Shiba
Inu mix, you have since moved to Seattle and the undercoat has not grown
in yet and is not as soft as it once was. I have pulled your file and
researched your situation.
Although we cannot refund you for the work we did 10 months ago, we are
genuinely sympathetic to your situation. We have provided some medical
information below that can give you some insight to the possible cause of
the fur damage.
The most extreme reaction to shaving this coat type is Post-Clipping
Alopecia - hair loss or failure for hair to regrow. While the reasons for
post-clipping alopecia are not known, one theory is that decreased
perfusion of hair follicles in addition to vaso-constriction due to
cooling of the skins by removal of hair may lead to premature termination
of the growing phase. It may also indicate a resting phase before the next
period of hair growth. Post-clipping alopecia may be an early indicator of
a disease such as hypothyroidism or a metabolic disorder. Post-clipping
alopecia is a poorly understood condition, and most dogs will regrow their
coat in time. However, because it may indicate an underlying health
problem, we recommend a dog whose coat has not recovered from shaving to
be examined for signs of disease. Even when this dog has been shaved
before and has shown no signs of Post-Clipping Alopecia, age and other
medical factors are most likely the cause of this symptom.
We are sorry your are experiencing this. Similar to our skin being
indicators of disease and medical problems in humans, a dogs' coat can be
an indicator of an unknown potential health issue. We advise you to wait
for a full winter to enable a full regrowth cycle, stimulate the coat by
washing and massaging, and or seek the advice of your local Veterinarian.
Sincerely,
