Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the claim by
*** ***. Mr*** had ample time to
test drive the vehicle and take it to a mechanic for inspection before
purchaseHe drove the vehicle and purchased it and declined an extended
warrantyOur warranty
on the vehicle was 50% parts and labor for days or
miles on engine and transmission onlyThe parts that his mechanic is
saying need replaced are not covered by this warrantyHe stated to our
salesman that no check engine light was on to indicate that there was a problem
with the catalytic converterThe codes from the check engine light are the way
we determine if a catalytic converter needs replacedWe offered to do work on
the vehicle in our shop simply out of goodwill but he refusedThe other sway
bar links and rack and pinion are wear items and when we drove the vehicle we
did not determine that they needed replaced.
We did replace the motor in the vehicle because the original motor was
damagedWe replaced it with a motor of similar mileage in order to make
improvements on the vehicleThe motor was from a vehicle at a salvage yard but
the motor itself was in excellent conditionWe did have problems with the work
one of our mechanics did to Mr*** car but we corrected these issues and
provided him with a loaner car while we had his vehicle. The parts Mr*** is wanting to replace are
not under our warranty but we have offered to work on his car and he has
refused. The repairs we made to the
vehicle before the sale were an improvement to the vehicle and should not be
considered a devaluation
