Bowersox Lawn & Garden Equipment

A Ryobi trimmer and a mower went in for repair at Bowersox on May 6th, I was told that I was going to hear from someone within days Two weeks later, I had not heard from anyone I drove to Bowersox on May 20th The mower was repaired and I picked it up A carburetor for the trimmer was coming in the next week Three weeks later on June 10th, I had not heard anything so I drove to the shop I was told that the part had come in the previous week and that I was going to hear from them in the next week after it was repaired Two weeks later on June 24th, I had not heard from them I drove in again into Bowersox I was told that the trimmer was still under repair I was told that the part had come in the previous week and that I was going to hear from them in the next week after it was repaired (sounds familiar?) At this point, considering that it had been more than six weeks since the trimmer had been brought in for repair, I requested to talk to the owner The owner was in the garage, next door to the shop He was obviously busy and he became very exasperated once I asked about my trimmer He told me that he was only the mechanic there and he wanted to know the reason I was coming to him with questions I told him that his daughter had directed me to him since he was the owner He then proceeded to tell me in a very raised voice that he had no control over when the parts came in I then pointed out that it had been two weeks since I was told that the part had come in and three weeks or more since they had received it At this point her daughter came in and said that the part had been received just the previous week I then asked the owner whether I was justified in asking him about the trimmer He said in a very raised voice that he was only human and that my trimmer was going to be ready on Monday, two days after I retreated at that point and thanked him for his help with my trimmer He wished me a "very nice day" under a very raised voice and with his daughter glaring on inhospitably I received a call an hour later, the first ever from Bowersox directly I was told that the part that they had received from China was defective and that my trimmer was irreparable The advice was to buy another one Bowersox is a Ryobi recommended repair shop It is very likely that they are very good at what they do, but it would be nice if they treated people nicely and if they followed up with phone calls to keep customers informed I found their manner abrupt and unresponsive
