Review: I took my pregnant girlfriend to the health center because she was having abstomach painsThe first problem was the lady at the counter was on her phone on a personal call while we were trying to check inShe would waive the paper and patient wristband in the air until it caught our attention to come receive itThen, we sat there for close to hours and we were never helpedPeople before and after us were being seenMy pregnant girlfriend was notWe ended up leaving because it was 1am and they were starting to shut the lights off in the facility and it seemed like everyone was going homeYou would think that a pregnant woman with abstomach pains would take priority over someone with the flu or a broken hand.Desired Settlement: Employees taught professionalism and priority

Review: I received services from Bowie Health Center on 01/12/2013 and evaluated by Dr. [redacted] from an automobile accident I was in on 12/28/2012. I was experiencing some pain in my left leg and knee. After the evaluation I received Motrin and a leg bandage for my leg. My compliant consists of credit reporting. The billing department sent me a bill for $263.00. I forward the bill to my automobile insurance which is [redacted] paid [redacted] $202.76 I was not sure why did [redacted] only paid $202.76. In September 2013, I received a collection letter from [redacted] for the remaining balances for $60.00. Contact a representative informing them that this balance should be forward to my Health Insurance "[redacted]". I pays automobile insurance and I pay in which they paid their part. And I pay for health insurance and what do not get paid after my PIP form [redacted] were depleted, [redacted] have to pay the balance left. Today I check my credit report and notice that [redacted] reported this balance on my credit report. I called [redacted] to tell them that this $60.00 bill was reported to my credit report and why did they just paid only $202.76? **. [redacted] informed my that Bowie Health Center over charged me and that the $263.00 over exceeded the amount that other provider in the same geographic area charges for the same services. So that is why they paid only $202.76. He also replied that he can't believe that they took this into collection after it is a "Balance Bill". And if they continue to give my a hard time with this matter, he will assists me.Desired Settlement: First, I want [redacted] to remove that negative remark from my credit report. Secondly, please provide my with itemize billing and why should [redacted] or [redacted] paid the $60.00 when [redacted] provided [redacted] explanation of why they only paid a certain amount. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act laws, I am entitles to these requested items. If this matter is not resolved within 10 days of this complaint, I will contact the Attorney General, FTC and any government official regarding this overcharging medical practices.

This company states that they contacted me via phone and left messages regarding an automobile accident that I received services for on 2/1/15, however, they did not. They state that they were unable to obtain the claim number to submit the bill to the insurance company. They sent the matter to a collection agency, United Collection Bureau, who first informed me that they do not report to credit bureau's, however, within the same conversation, informed me that I had 30 days before they would forward the account to my credit report. Upon calling my insurance company and speaking with my Adjuster from that time, I learned that Bowie Health Center had never contacted Geico regarding a claim number. I forwarded the collection agency's statement to the Geico Adjuster and informed of the collection agencies statement of sending it to my credit report in 30 days if it was not resolved. I then called Bowie Health Center and informed that Geico would be in contact with them. At this time the representative informed me of numerous notes in my account where a representative wrote that they had called and left messages, even as of recent. I informed Shirley that no one at Bowie Health Center had ever called or left messages for me regarding this matter. I am submitting this complaint because the practices within the Bowie Health Center's Billing Department are unethical as they were to contact me, the customer, if they were unable to gain contact with my insurance holder rather than forward the account to a collection agency who would very well affect my credit.
