Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: as Bowman states in their first statement, they came to our home for an estimate onlyUpon arrival, I verified with the technician that this would be a cost free estimateThe technician did rewire the unit so it worked temporarilyThe heating unit failed a few days laterWe went out of town during Thanksgiving week and had to rely upon our neighbor to enter our home several times to reset the heater so it would work for an intermittent period of timeHe's available to corroborate thisUpon return from out of town, we called two other companies to verify what Bowman told us - that the furnace was fineHowever, the two companies came to the same conclusion - the furnace had lived its life and to properly repair it would cost almost the same amount to replace itBased upon this information, we chose one of the company's and had the furnace replaced within a few daysThe furnace was not years old as Bowman alleges, it was 8-years oldBowman seemed like an honest company, a company that we could work with and claim as our family company for all our heating & cooling needsTheir actions proved otherwiseThey're from ***, we're from [redacted] where a man's word is all you needWe were duped into believing that would be the case with BowmanUpon calling several times to reach a fair settlement, we'd pay half of the bill and put the misunderstanding behind us, Bowman doubled down and accused us of dishonesty and would not budgeBowman made no effort towards the old saying: the customer comes firstIt was never about the money, it had every thing to do with the principles of honesty, integrity, and fair businessI would still pay half of the original bill, $I feel they took advantage of this [redacted] and that should not be tolerated Sincerely, [redacted]
we originally went out to confirm he needed a new furnace which is why we started out as an estimate, he did not need a new furnace as it was only years old, we fixed the problem and so we charged him for the timeI even have an an email where he agreed to pay the bill and apologized for being
tardy on paymentwe could not get a hold of him to come to an agreement so we sent his account to a collection agency then he retaliated by dragging our name through the mud

I am rejecting this response because: as Bowman states in their first statement, they came to our home for an estimate only. Upon arrival, I verified with the technician that this would be a cost free estimate. The technician did rewire the unit so it worked temporarily. The heating unit failed a few days later. We went out of town during Thanksgiving week and had to rely upon our neighbor to enter our home several times to reset the heater so it would work for an intermittent period of time. He's available to corroborate this. Upon return from out of town, we called two other companies to verify what Bowman told us - that the furnace was fine. However, the two companies came to the same conclusion - the furnace had lived its life and to properly repair it would cost almost the same amount to replace it. Based upon this information, we chose one of the company's and had the furnace replaced within a few days. The furnace was not 3 years old as Bowman alleges, it was 8-9 years old. Bowman seemed like an honest company, a company that we could work with and claim as our family company for all our heating & cooling needs. Their actions proved otherwise. They're from [redacted], we're from [redacted] where a man's word is all you need. We were duped into believing that would be the case with Bowman. Upon calling several times to reach a fair settlement, we'd pay half of the bill and put the misunderstanding behind us, Bowman doubled down and accused us of dishonesty and would not budge. Bowman made no effort towards the old saying: the customer comes first. It was never about the money, it had every thing to do with the principles of honesty, integrity, and fair business. I would still pay half of the original bill, $98.00. I feel they took advantage of this [redacted]. and that should not be tolerated. Sincerely,
