Enclosed is a response to address additional comments on complaint ID *** The following correspondence is an attempt to clarify the manufacturer warranty, and how it applies to the consumerBowman's Stove has been in contact with *** *** on several occasions in regards to the is particular order Both parties have reviewed the photos, as well as the customer comments
*** maintains a one year warranty on slings against manufacturing defects Fading or discoloration is not covered under this policy
The initial complaint was received in this store on 7/2/when the consumer advised there was staining on her fabric, and wanted direction on how to remove or clean From the photos it was apparent that only the bottom portion of the sling had been affected Discoloration is generally from environment impact This is beyond the control of both the manufacturer, and the retailer.
The warranty on the powder coat finish on *** aluminum furniture is year against cracking, peeling, or blistering from date of purchase Failure of the finish due to abrasion such as stacking furniture against other furniture, or scrapping against other surfaces is not covered
This photos do show sign of chipping on the furniture This is common and can be rectified with touch up paint One of the arms is showing a slight amount of blistering This also was reported after the warranty had expired
*** offers a year warranty on the frame only This warranty applies to a structural failure during use (ie: cracked frame, or broken welds)
We are sympathetic to the customer's disappointment She feels the furniture did not perform to her expectations That is why the respective companies did offer to repair the furniture at a substantial discount to what the cost would normally incur That offer was rejected
Since receiving notification of the customer complaint with the Revdex.com Bowman's Stove and Patio felt it would behoove us to further confer with *** as to how to proceed Both parties maintain the stance that complaint does not fall under a manufacturing defect, and any warranty besides the year structural frame warranty had, in the case of the sling, long since expiredOur original offer to replace and repair the effected furniture at a discount is still viable should the customer wish to take advantage

This letter is in response to Complaint ID number *** dated on January 13,
The customer contacted the store via email on July of requesting assistance on getting stains out of the sling on outdoor furniture was purchased from our store in May of We
were hesitant to recommend anything outside of soap and water to clean the slings until we were better aware of the nature of the stain At the time there was also a complaint voiced on some chipping paint Photos wee requested to better assess the situation At the time of the registered complaint the manufacturer warranty had expired The vendor *** *** Furniture warranties the fabric from manufactures defects for one year We past the date of initial contact When we received the photos we advised the customer that we would be forwarding the information to *** for their advice and expertise Upon inspection of the photos they felt it was apparent that the slings had not suffered a manufacturer defect but instead something environmental was occurring to discolor but not degrade the fibers The fabric is showing no signs of disintegration The consumer is correct there is some visible chipping evident on the photos of the furniture *** felt that the majority of the chipping was concentrated mostly on the edges where it may be hitting a table or other furniture Because the manufacturer could not see evidence of defects in workmanship, and because the warranty on the fabric and finish had expired they denied any claim.I informed the consumer of their findings Despite the fact that the warranty had long expired, and in an attempt to rectify the problem *** did offer the customer a discounted replacement sling, as well as touch up paint for the scratches Bowman's Stove took an additional percentage off, as well as offering a discount charge to pick up, replace and retouch the furniture, as well as return it to the homeowner This was deemed unacceptable by the consumer We had limited recourse, due to the fact that it did not fall under the warranty criteria per the manufacturer Bowman's Stove and Patio felt as if we had made an honest effort to resolve the issue, and we were at a loss of how to proceed when or offer to repair the furniture was not accepted
