Boxed Inn Reviews (%countItem)

I booked these movers as I explicitly questioned whether they charge for travel which they said that they do not, they only charge from when they arrive and when they leave at an hourly rate of 119/ hour + tax, they stayed for 6 hours, 2 over what was estimated, but I am not too upset with that as it is my buildings fault. When moving they damaged several items which I list at the end with pricing. However first I notice that the movers had charged me for 8 hours instead. I went to the office of the movers and spoke to the owner, ***. He told me that now they do charge for travel and that I was told incorrectly by an employee, and it is "my word against his" in a way that it seems as though he does this regularly. He refused to refund it so I left, called my credit card and they are holding the amount that was over charged and will not release it to him.

Further to this, when I asked for his insurance information for the damaged goods, he turned around and walked off to help another customer and told me that he doesn't want to give it to me. So now I have a total of $6,054.99 +tax worth of goods that are damaged (i sent him pictures of all of this but he has been ignoring my emails). as well as been charged $238+ tax over the amount that was disclosed.

Here is a list of items that were damaged as well as links to them with the pricings that I had paid:
Bed $499 + tax ***
Mattress $749 + tax ***
Tv $1,949.99 + tax***
Glass Cabinet $349 +tax ***
Mannequin 1070 USD + tax (bought in January 2016 at approximately $1550 Canadian + tax) ***
quote from a painter to repair walls $650 +tax
Bolts for headboard $8 (***)
Patio table glass $300 +tax (bought at *** can find the receipt when required)

this totals 6,054.99 excluding taxes and 6,842.14 including taxes.

Desired Outcome

I wish to be refunded $268.94 for the 2 hours that was overcharged as well as a cheque of $6,842.14 for the damaged goods. I have wasted a significant amount of time driving back and forth from him and dealing with this case. As a contractor I am paid on average 100$/ hour. This has taken about 6 hours out of my life trying to deal with this and also wish to be reimbursed 600$ for wasting my time - the latter is the least important but replacing my goods and reimbursing me for overcharges is very important... I noticed I made an error in the amount that I wished to be reimbursed for damages. For the outside patio table it wasn't 300, it was 429.39 including taxes and have attached the receipt Ie this is an additional 129.39$ Many thanks for following this up so swiftly! And please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help speed up the process as the owner of the company has been choosing to ignore my emails about his insurance as I assume he doesn't wish to claim these damages which would cause an increase on his premium.

First let me begin by stating we have been in Business for 15 years and this is our first complaint to the Revdex.com. We have never before been accused of over billing, or billing for travel time. Imagine running a company where the business would have to cover travel costs. In the case of this customer he was quoted 4 hours to do the move which is typical for a one bedroom move. In the case of this customer we would be going from our Etobicoke location to Yorkville. (roughly 45 minutes on a Monday morning. After parking and bring our equipment to the customer we discovered not an item had been packed. The customer did request we bring 6 bins which we assumed were for a few items left to pack. We thankfully brought a dozen or there simply would not had been enough to accommodate his belongings. Upon completion of the load it then took about 20 minutes just to get other trucks moved in the alley so we could get to the drop off location. (I can provide pics for this) Rather then go on with a long story when a case worker is issued this case I will provide an email from this customer threatening that if I do not issue a credit for two hours travel time he will call Revdex.com and put a complaint on my reviews which he has done. I have at this point chosen to obtain counsel and sue the customer with slander and false claims of damage. For example the bed he claims we broke was never put together and the customer handed us the hardware from the top of the fridge. All of our customers have paid travel time for 15 years with no complaints. In this case we did go over the quoted time predominantly because the customer was not prepared to move and access to and from his location. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me by phone as I fully intend to keep my record of zero complaints to the Revdex.com.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The business owner is victimising himself saying I threatened to call the Revdex.com, I stated if I do not reach a resolution I shall follow the proper procedure of contacting my credit card and Revdex.com to come to a resolution if he does not wish to discuss anything with me, as when I tried to talk to him he turned around and ignored me right infront of another customer as he assumed I would take a while to come to a resolution.
The movers even admitted damaging the goods, dropping a glass table top, blaming the brand for damages bed and I am not complaining about the length of time the service took, I am only complaining about the fact that the owner is charging me for something one of his employees explicitly stated they do not do - charging for travel and for reembursing for damaged goods.

Document Attached***
This customer did not want to pay for travel time although he signed a contract stated that he would be billed for the drive. Things didn't go his way and he then decided to make claims for practically ever item in the apartment. As you could well imagine it would be near impossible to due the amount of damages claimed, especially since all items were wrapped in moving blankets. If any of these claims were true I am sure I would be taken to small claims court. My record over the 15 years I have been in business should speak for itself. If you require any further information please feel free to contact me. By the way. No Items were damaged on this move.
