I requested a time at a course. The only course close to me. The Boxgroove site says 95% of it's requests are honored. The request took 24-48 hours for the course to respond.
The responded denied as course was full of members. The courses website said multiple times were available. Boxgroove took my deposit and placed it in a wallet. I requested they refund me as no service was provided and there are no other course in my area that I can use. They flat out said nope you are outta luck, it's non refundable. EVEN THOUGH NO SERVICE WAS EVER PROVIDED. From my experience it's a waste of time and money.

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I did not lie or misrepresent the facts I attached an image of what a free user can see and it clearly shows "Upgrade to Request" Never did his site state that there are wait times to play The site also does not clearly state that I have to play with a random person if I want to play a course It also fails to clearly state that a user may not ever accept to play with me The owner says that it's clearly written in his user agreement but that doesn't matter if he is misleading the customer I wanted to play a course that day by myself and my service dog, like I have done at plenty of other courses I tried to play a course and it said "Upgrade to Request" and after clicking that it brings you to a page that outlines what you get for paying the $dollars No where on that page did it list any of my concerns I paid the $and then found out that you can't actually request tee times or play those courses that day I looked at the request a tee time to see what it was all about, sent a request and immediately cancelled it I can't play with another member and I was just looking into what that service entailed I NEVER used the service, the entire purpose of the site is to book a tee time and that never remotely happened His service is booking tee times and I never did that I don't know what isn't clear about that Instead he insists that what I did was fraud May I remind you that I was on his site for a whole minutes before I sent an email to cancel my account, and requested a refund I thought I was able to book a tee time that day and by myself The steps to upgrade never suggest otherwise When I upgraded I realized that wasn't the case and requested a refund The request was immediately cancelled, immediately, and the owner even acknowledged that His service is not a messaging service, but rather booking a tee time I never booked a tee time and cancelled within minutes of ever being on his site If I was on his site for a few days, played some golf, and then requested a refund I would understand but considering the circumstances I believe it is absolutely absurd he won't refund me and is making inflammatory claims that I am a fraud.Sincerely, [redacted] ***

This gentleman clearly misrepresented the facts here No one needs to upgrade or pay money to see what they can do on Boxgroove Everyone registers as a free member The upgrade to premium membership is $per year and is non refundable as stated in our terms and conditions
that every uses must accept to register to Boxgroove A premium membership gives every member the same two things over a standard member - one does not pay booking fees and one can make requests to Member clubs as designated with Blue Push Pins If you read the FAQ's and Terms and Conditions it clearly states that these requests go to the member or members of these clubs because our members of these clubs can decide to accept your request to be hosted Also, it states that only a maximum of players can be submitted as the player in the group is obviously the member hosting them Also, on each of these member affiliated clubs it states -
This club is not directly affiliated with boxgroove, but has members that use our network
In our Terms and Conditions on point number - included here it states:
Fees for Service and Payment TermsThe current rate for the Service is US $per year for the Premium Membership and is non-refundable.
This client upgraded submitted a request using our service (which then sent an email to our member) indicating that one of our members had asked him to host them The user then turned around and cancelled the request - which is fine and can be done - and then wants a refund This is the same as buying a dress or suit to wear to a wedding, keeping the tags on the garment and then returning it to the store for a refund This is fraud
The terms and conditions and FAQ can all be found on our website under the support tab No one was rude to this man on the phone or via our twitter exchange with him We do NOT have a crystal ball and have no idea that he has a medical condition as we are not mind readers If anyone is in doubt about a service one should call the company and inquire first as to what everything entails and what the return policy is That is just sound business
