Mr. [redacted]'s wife contacted Boxpac on the 28th of September. She said she had a large photograph in a frame that was already crated and needed to be shipped. We explained that Boxpac was a crating company, not a shipping company but said that we could provide her with a shipping rate from a freight...

company and charge her a pick up fee. She then mentioned that this needed to be picked up immediately and shipped the same day. We moved some things around, got her a freight quote and went to pick up the crate from an art gallery and arrange for expedited pick up from a freight company. Unfortunately after the freight left Boxpac and was in the care of the freight company the piece was damaged by the carrier. At no time did Mrs. [redacted] give Boxpac and value of the piece or ask for insurance. When the picture was picked up and signed for by Mrs. [redacted] or her representative at the art gallery they also did not fill out the spot on our work order that asks for value and if the customer would like to insure the item. The crate shipped without insurance. Mr. [redacted] and Boxpac went through the claims process with the carrier but as the outcome started to look unfavorable Mr. [redacted] became upset with Boxpac. We refunded his money and said that we would do what we could to get the carrier to cover his damaged freight. We at Boxpac did exactly as we were asked. We expedited a pick up and shipment for Mrs. [redacted] and her crate remained in good care. Once the crate is with the carrier, Boxpac cannot be liable for any damage done by the carrier. Mr [redacted] understood this at one point, which is why we went through the claims process with the freight company. We are very sorry for Mr and Mrs. [redacted]'s loss but feel they are pointing the finger at the wrong people.
