Thank you for your information and letter from Boyd Construction....They have not completed the work at this time
They continually go days without showing up to work....It was a brief time because of no Workman's Compensation
Insurance that the work stopped....It has been months now that my family has been without a home....Living in a
borrowed motorhome on the property.....A family of four...Not a good situation...The owner said at one point, "I don't
care!"

Actual purchase price for initial installation and tankless unit was $2812, which includes $399 for HCD permits and inspections....

 There was a higher priced tankless water heater offered, but the homeowner chose this unit because it was a least expensive option.  The total of $3862, which was paid by the homeowner, included construction of new stairs, landing, and hand rails. 
Repairs were done on the unit in March, while the unit’s manufacturer warranty and our company’s labor warranty were still in effect.  The parts were ordered and installed free of charge.  Shortly after that, we were notified of inconsistent temperature in hot water and we did have the unit inspected at that time.  Unfortunately, our inspection could not replicate the intermittent problem so we were unable to determine the cause, therefore unable to do any repair.
All of the work we did was permitted, inspected, and approved by the State of California HCD.  We have no record of the homeowner contacting us regarding any need for replacement of the roof vent or the closet floor after the unit installation was completed.    
This most recent complaint has also been resolved as of October 16th, when the ordered part was installed.  There has also been an additional part which is on order that we will be replacing once received.  Unfortunately, this name brand unit is no longer carried by our supplier, so parts are not available immediately.
Homeowner’s desired settlement of a replacement unit is not a determination that we can make.  We are only able to provide a warranty on our labor for the installation, which we have honored.  A defect in the actual product would be covered by the manufacturer, not by the installer.  Homeowner should contact the manufacturer directly to pursue their request for replacement.
