Tell us why here...Mr***? stopped in at our shop to have us look at his vehicle with an insurance estimate in hand stating he was rear ended and felt their estimate was under bidUpon examining the estimate and vehicle, the shop manager and employee both agreed there would be more than likely
more damage behind the rear bumper cover, and informed him that the insurance company only writes an estimate for the damage that can be seen, and until the repairs are done they would not pay for any unseen damageIf he wanted to pocket the money all he would get is what they sent him and there was nothing we could do unless we started repairing the vehicleWe informed him that we could schedule him in for repairs and start on his vehicleHe scheduled, dropped off the vehicle for repairs and got into a rental car while repairs were being madeAnd never once while dropping the vehicle off mentioned he did not want the repairs doneIf he had we would have told him the same thing we did when he stopped by the first time, there is nothing we can do unless the repairs are done.Once the vehicle was going through initial tear down, it was noted this vehicle has been in multiple accidents and had a lot of prior damage that did not fit with a rear end collisionAlso noted many shotty repairs and bad craftsmanship as seen in image and image with the remnants of glue where reflectors were and what is called “runs” in the clear coatA run is when the clear coat is applied too heavily and it starts to drip like waterThe entire vehicle had runs at the base of every door and bottom of both bumpers, underneath the door handlesOne of the prior damage notes that it had zip ties holding the lower sides of the bumper in because other parts were missing that are required to hold the bumper on correctlyUnfortunately being prior damage, there is no remedy we can make that would be covered by the insurance company, as with insurance they are only responsible to bring the vehicle back to pre accident condition as such we had to put new zip-ties at the sides of the bumper. After initial tear down was completed it was noted more damage to the rear body panel, the latch for the trunk and the weatherstripWe put in for a supplement to the insurance company for more damageThe okayed the supplement, and informed the customer that a supplement had been okayed and repairs were being continuedMrNye did not call and ask what was going on at any point during repairs while we had his vehicle for days (waiting for the insurance to authorize the supplemental repairs)We repaired the vehicle, put a new latch, a new weatherstrip, repaired the rear body panel from the damage that was caused by the accident and replaced the rear bumper coverOnce the vehicle was completed, MrNye was called to be informed ? his vehicle was completed and all he needed was to bring the initial check the insurance company had given him for the damage to the vehicle which was $573.MrNye misunderstood and had thought he would be keeping the initial check from the insurance company, and that he had verbally and made continuous affirmative actions to have us repair the vehicleAgain we tried to explain to him over the phone that the insurance company would not have paid any more money unless the vehicle was repaired because they cannot pay for damage they cannot see.As far as any problems the customer has, we warranty our work for as long as the vehicle is owned by that customerWith a no hassle warranty, all the customer has to do is bring the problem to our attention and we will correct any problem with our workmanship as fast as possibleWe have been in business for years, and that does not happen without providing quality customer service and being as informative as possible to the customerMrNye, looking back was trying to scam the insurance company for more money without having the repairs completedWe were willing to put the old bumper cover back on his vehicle but he denied thatWe are willing to work with MrNye in resolving this issue if he is willing to attempt to work with usWe completed the repairs and brought the car back to pre-accident condition
