Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/03/10) */
The whole situation was they had it diagnosed at *** and all we were asked to do was replace a part that *** told them to replaceWe told them to bring the car back in and we diagnosed the car and found the computer was bad not the
nox sensors
We spent time investigating the problem at no cost
We did what we were asked to do and we feel we cannot refund the money for the parts and labor involved, and we did show them the old parts when we took them out but we cannot show them the new parts as they are under the intake manifold

To whom it may concer:
Mr*** brought his vehicle after he installed a used motor from the junk yard in his vehicleHe stated that it has an overheating issueWe performed several tests on the vehicleDuring
testing we noticed that the lower hose was not getting hot but the car would overheatThis showed us that there was a circulation issue that needed to be addressed first before anything elseSince this particular motor's water pump is internal it was necessary to take everything off down to the water pumpWe had a lengthy conversation on what this meantHe was told that we wouldn't know anything until it was taken apartWe have seen on these motors that the shaft of the water pump propeller actually brake thus not allowing proper circulation of the engine coolantAfter removing the water pump and inspecting it we found that this water pump has been done before and whoever replaced it used so much silicone that it plugged the passages thus allowing for no circulationThere was no way to tell if further damage had been caused by this misuse of siliconeIt could have went anywhere in the motorWe explained this to the customerWhen you put a used motor in a vehicle you are always taking a chanceObviously this used motor had a pre-existing conditionSince the customer has had interactions with us before I made sure to pay extra attention to what was done and what was saidI made more than enough accommodations for this customerHe bought his own parts and was advised there would be no warrantyI let his car stay in the bay apart while we waited a week or so for his parts to come inEven after we towed the car I stored the car for another week not once charging him any storageOn the day that we towed it back in after re-checking it Mr*** and I agreed to me paying him half of the labor back which was $as a show of good willThat was on a FridayI told him that I don't feel that I did anything wrong but as a show of good will I would do that for him to help him outWe agreed and he was to come Monday and pick it upOn Monday he and his wife came and all of a sudden wanted all their money back, rescinding the deal that I had already made with himI told them all I could do was what I already promised themThey proceeded to wait another week before they picked up the car and I still did not charge them storage

Last week I received some pretty upsetting news about my daughters car which I purchased just six months agoGiven that it's a hybrid made finding the best solution a lot harder than if it wasn'tI came across Boyd's when I was searching online for the 100th time and getting nowhereI called them and got Tyler on the phoneI explained my situation and after letting me know they don't deal with hybrids he then gave me some advice on where to look and how to potentially handle the situation right before getting my number because he really wanted to just try to helpHe did tons of research, called different people and places to see how he could help fix my issue and then gave me all the information he hadMy issue isn't resolved yet but I am getting closer and he is still in contact helping me and going above and beyond for someone he doesn't know for a vehicle that can't even be repaired at his shopHe isn't getting any true benefit and is still helping me until I get the car fixedI live minutes from Boyd's but I am going to make them my repair shop and tell everyone I know that they should do the sameCustomer service like this isn't easy to come by in this day and age and I am simply blown away by the amazing treatment I have received from Tyler! Truly impressive and Boyd's is lucky to have him! If you haven't yet you need to check them outBest decision you'll make !
