Bad experience
Approximately, 3 weeks ago I met with an estimator for repairing damaged caused by a water leak. He said I would have an estimate by the end of that week. Here we are many days later, and still no estimate. I called leaving a message and received no return call. What quality of work can you expect?

I am writing in response to complaint ID [redacted]I have reviewed the complaint and disagree with thecomplaint as stated. On October 1, 2014 at approx. 11:00 am, I did meet with Ms.[redacted] at her property located at [redacted]  I understand this to be a...

secondary residenceof Ms. [redacted] that is unoccupied or does not have a permanent tenant. Sheresides in [redacted], approximately 25 miles away. The property had sustained water damage due to the hotwater, fuel oil burning boiler heating system failure which allowed the waterand boiler lines to freeze and rupture. The existing radiators were cast iron. I did explain and that this typeof radiator was hard to find and could take some time to find. I did estimate 2weeks.  The biggest problem with thistype of system is that to install a new radiator, you have to obtain the samesize so the existing plumbing that feeds the radiators can be utilized.   These lines are typically buried in floorsor walls and become very costly to alter to make just any radiator fit.  After searching several local used suppliers,I was forced to order from a distributor in New York.  The radiators did take longer than myestimate, but at that point I was forced into a timeline that was dictated bythe supplier that could get the radiators for her property.  I explained to Ms. [redacted] that this timelinewas out of my control.  After installing the radiators and trying to fire up thesystem, we found that the oil tank was empty. This is more than likely the cause of the original failure.  It is my opinion that the boiler ran out offuel, shut down and allowed the pipes to freeze.  This is always a possibility in a propertythat has not regular monitoring of the fuel levels.  Because of varying outdoor temperatures, there is no real way to estimate fuel levels without physically being at theproperty to check the fuel gauge.  Iexplained that because no one is living at the residence, it is probably a goodidea to leave the property drained and winterized so the same situation doesnot occur.  She agreed.  This is the reason the property does not haveheat.  On the morning of the complaint filing date, Ms. [redacted] didleave me a message at my office about the return of the key.  At the time, I was out of the office onpreviously scheduled appointments.  Uponmy return I did contact Ms. [redacted] and offered to drop the key off at herresidence in [redacted].  She told me thatshe was in the area and would stop to get the key.  She did stop and receive the key from oursecretary on January 8, 2015.and never mentioned the Revdex.com complaint.

Review: On October 1, 2014, I met with [redacted] at my secondary residence so he could give me an estimate to replace heating radiators. He told me it would take about 2 weeks to locate the radiators. After 2 weeks, I called him & he said he hadn't located the radiators but he would now order them. He said it would take another 2 weeks. On November 4, I met with one of his employees who had to measure for piping. I feel this should have been done during the initial visit. More than once, I told [redacted] I wanted the radiators installed before winter because I had to keep the house heated & I wanted to be able to work in the house during the winter months to prepare it for selling. On December 8, [redacted] called me and said the oil tank for the house was empty and it would need to be filled because once they had installed the radiators, they would need to fire up the heating system to ensure there were no leaks, cracks, etc. That very day, I ordered oil and it was delivered on December 13. At this time, he told me he needed to replace 2 additional radiators that weren't noticed to have cracks during his original estimate. The company has not contacted me or presented me with an invoice to let me know the work is complete. I have left more than one message & they do not return my calls. Boyer & Pentek has my only house key therefore, I cannot get into my house. With the extremely cold weather, I want to check on the house especially since there is no heat. I am concerned about pipes freezing and other damages to my house. It has been over 3 months since my initial contact with this company and I have no idea if the work is complete because they won't return my calls. They are unprofessional and I would highly not recommend them. This is an insurance claim and I have shared my concerns with Erie Insurance and suggested they not use them in the future. Boyer & Pentek is unprofessional and provides poor customer service. I can't comment on their quality of work because I cannot get into my house to examine it.Desired Settlement: I need to know if the work is complete and I want my house key returned. If further damage is done to my house due to the sub-zero temperatures, I will be requesting reimbursement from Boyer & Pentek.

Review: Boyer and Pentek had told me multiple times they would complete a service. They, specifically Seth have not been professional in terms of timely communication. Multiple phone calls and emails have not been returned. They have let the repair of my roof extend for months as I have waited to have them complete the work they promised that they would. Additional damage has occurred because of their failure to complete the work that was promised. This has caused me to consider taking legal action to compensate for the additional damage.Desired Settlement: Date Sent: 9/11/2015 9:24:36 AMI would like the resolution for them to do the work that they stated they would do. They have strung me out for months now and given me a commitment that they would do work and now are trying to back out after making promise after promise.

September 24, 2015[redacted]To whom it may concern:RE: Concern ID: [redacted]We have provided Mr. [redacted] with an estimate to complete a service on a property he owns. When we provided this estimate to the homeowner, it was explained that were experiencing high volumes of work and we could not promise any start times. What Mr. [redacted] failed to mention is that we had a crew scheduled to start this service work on August 11, 2015. A crew was dispatched to his rental property but when they arrived they were denied access by his tenant. We made multiple attempts to contact Mr. [redacted], who lives out of state, to complete the repairs. We were unable to contact Mr. [redacted] so the repairs were never completed. Several days later we received a call from Mr. [redacted] stating that he was busy on that Tuesday and couldn’t get to his phone. Seth informed him again that because of our volume, he would need to be place back in line to get the repairs completed. The record should also show that we have never collected any money from Mr. [redacted] for these repairs. He is free to have any company of his choosing complete these repairs. If you have any further questions regarding this complaint, please contact us at our offices.ThanksBrian S[redacted]Boyer & Pentek, Inc

Seth B[redacted] did not show up for an appointment today. I did not receive a courtesy call for an hour. Rude, unprofessional. I had to call the company to find out what was going on. An hour after the original appointment time, I was called and told that he would be unable to make it. Just to be clear, I called them 10 minutes before the appointment and I let them know I would be 5 minutes late. I guess they are so busy that they can pass on a 50,000 job.
