B&R Development

Review: On 12/20/13 a pipe broke in the studio above my garage, resulting in water damage to the garage below. [redacted], President of record, and acting as agent for B&R Development of [redacted]., was contracted on or about 12/23/13 to remove and replace all water damaged areas (insulation, drywall, etc.) and to obtain tradesmen and to oversee the remaining work required to restore the damaged areas of the garage to pre-loss condition. On 2/14/14, [redacted] DBA B&R Development received a check in the amount of $3,825.12, the amount estimated by the Insurance Co. for costs to return damaged areas to pre-loss condition. This payment of $3.825.12, according to the Insurance Estimate, was to be used for materials and labor including; insulation, drywall, (install, tape, and float - ready to paint), the costs for paint & painters, and an electrician. Of this $3,825.12, only $2481.07 was ear-marked for work to be completed by B&R Development. The remaining $1,344.05 to be used as payment for sub-contractors. As of, 7/22/14, only removal/partial replacement of materials has been completed. Of the $2,481.07 in allocated funds to [redacted] DBA B&R Development, only $1,159.21 can actually be accounted for in terms of work completed, a balance of $1,321.86 remains for work still to be completed. [redacted] DBA B&R Development has not completed their portion of the agreed upon removal and restoration of water damaged areas. And also to repair additional damages to garage caused by an employee of B&R Development. B&R Development has been contacted repeatedly by phone and email over the last months. As of 7/4/14 [redacted] finally agreed in an email to complete work in two weeks time, this has not happened. Money was given in good faith and accepted by [redacted], DBA B&R Development of [redacted]. with the expectation that the job would be properly taken care of and in a timely manner. I can't recommend this company for anything!Desired Settlement: Reimbursement by Cashier's Check in the amount of: $2,665.91 (A) nonperformance or noncompletion of contracted work..$1,321.86 (B) monies accepted by [redacted]/B&R Development to pay other trades.....$1,344.05 (C) total amount.............$2,665.91
