Brad Armstrong Land Surveying Inc Reviews (1)

In regards to the client with the complaint against our business: The customer called our business on May 20th to get an estimate for a Flood Elevation Certificate and at that time asked about a group rate and was then told we charge $ for the flood elevation certificate and if her
property was found to be above the year base flood elevation we could file a LOMA with FEMA for and additional $ to remove her from the newly revised flood plain map that recently was published at the city and county level on April 5th, 2016. It was explained to the client that a flood elevation certificate does not remove her home from the flood plain and that is done by filling out the LOMA application on line and submitting it to FEMA, and there would be a $ discount for each additional customer within a three house radius of her address up to $ per person. The other three property owners called and were told the same prices. We completed the four flood elevation certificates and found all four were indeed above the year flood plain and filed the LOMA’s with FEMA. The other three customers have already picked up their paperwork and paid in full the $ and are very happy, satisfied customers as per phone and in person conversation with them. Also, If the customer chooses to pay with a credit card, there is 3.5% processing fee (as is standard policy) which would be $ bringing the total to $ Furthermore, in response to the clients desired outcome; Everyone in the city and county have been made aware of the upcoming new flood mapping from FEMA for the last two years so, poor planning on her part to wait until a day notice from her mortgage company is not our fault. It takes 30-days to hear back from FEMA on a LOMA application anyway, so she would have missed her deadline no matter whatI called and canceled the client’s LOMA because she told us after the fact that we had already completed the work that she was going to file the LOMA herself and refused to pay after she was told that she would not receive the $ discount if she abandoned the three others on the group rate. The client was told over the phone (with her husband present in my office) by me that the flood elevation certificate would now be $ 500.00. Again, the customer refused to pay for the work we completed and our company is out at least $ 850.00. We are not responsible for missing her mortgage company deadline and causing her to now be forced by them to carry flood insurance on her home that could have been removed from the flood plain
