Mr***'s auto and renter's insurance policy from *** Insurance was put in place 05/31/He agreed to have the premiums drafted from his checking account every month on the 1st and e-signed all the appropriate formsThere were never any issues with his EFT drafts for the six months the policies were in place.He notified me via email on Wednesday November 30th to ask if he could move the normally scheduled draft date from Thursday Dec1st to Friday Dec2nd. I emailed back and told him it might be too late but I would checkI emailed again shortly after to tell him our billing department confirmed that three days are needed to change the date of an EFT draftI told him I hoped that wouldn't affect him too much.*** emailed back, "No worriesIm in middle of divorceThings are crazy at this momentIt will deny transaction tomorrowYou have permission to re run friday am when my paycheck hits."The EFT premium payment went through successfully when drafted on the 1stThis apparently caused ***'s checking account to overdraft $He sent me an email letting me know that he was upset and that he was going to move his insurance to another company I called *** and left a message asking for the date his new insurance would take effectHe sent me an email on showing his new Progressive policy took effect on Dec4thI cancelled his *** auto policy effective Dec4th so there would be no lapse in his insurance.He called and told me to return the money to his account and I advised him that we can't refund money via EFT but he would be getting a check mailed for the amount of the draft minus the four daysHe said he wanted a full refundI explained that wasn't a wise thing to do since a lapse in your auto insurance can affect your insurance ratingHe insistedI told him I will change the date of the cancellation to Dec1st, but it will delay the refundI also asked if he wanted his renters insurance cancelled and he confirmed he did I cancelled that effective Dec1st.In his phone calls to me he repeatedly said he was 'going to call some of the guys he caddies for at the club' and inferred that they would take action against me - he wasn't clear what kind of 'action' he was referring toI told *** that I will never advise anyone against getting legal counsel and if they had any questions to call meThat was the last I heard from him until this complaint.In his complaint he says I withdrew money after I told him not toThe EFT draft came out on the same day as he originally agreed to and the same date as the previous six monthsHe called me the day before to change the date and I advised him he needed to call at least three days in advance to change the date of an EFT draft.I feel bad that *** is going through this right now - because I've been through it as wellBeing the stand up guy that I am, I will offer to personally pay $to cover half of his overdraft fees.Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you require any documentation.Thanks!BradBrad Sussman Insurance, ltd.Auto, Home, Life & Commercial 844-200-4800Follow us on Facebook! Although his statement are incorrect ( I have proof via e mails ) I will provide if my namesake is at stake) I will agree to this deal
