about this complaint from [redacted],first of all he said my crew was only there an hour and from what my crew says they...

were there about three hours with four guys. Marty the guy that talked to [redacted] about the tree work gave him a price of $800.00 [redacted] talked him down to 400.00 an as far as I can see he was taking advantage of the crew being I wasn't there.so I called gary to see what what was taking so long an I got no answer, after I tried to reach jason that was on the job an no answer,an also no answer from jamie , I called marty an marty informed me that the home ower was adding on extra work from the agreed job. so I Brad drove 42 miles to see what was going on over there, an knocked on [redacted]s door an no response from him. so then I told them guys to clean up what with what they have done witch includes 11 trees an all the extras they have done already. [redacted] did pay one of the crew members "jamie" but was clearly taking advantage of the crew as I wasn't there. For what my crew completed I believe the job should have been 800.00 with no complaints at all. [redacted] clearly took advantage of the crew. further more he posted bad reviews on "craigslist" about my company, stating brads tree and stump removal is working in your area an advising that I will scam them an not complete the work witch is untrue
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 18, 2015/06/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
To whom this may concern,
I stand by my previous complaint/statement that I filed with the Revdex.com on 05/04/2015. I would like to add some details which were previously left out of my complaint and comment on some points that Mr. [redacted] made in his response.
I had submitted the following note thru Brad's Tree and Stump Removal Service webpage on February 27th 2015 ... I had saved the document below on my computer with the appropriate electronic document history
[redacted]
My name is [redacted] Andover, Mn. 55304
I am writing you this note to let you know that I was not satisfied with the job your company performed for me on February 24, 2015.
I was contacted by phone on approximately February 19th and was asked if I'd like to have a free estimate to have some tree trimming done. I hesitated but then agreed to have the estimator call when he was in the area and we would make an appointment that same day for him to stop by. On Tuesday Marty stopped by without calling and we discussed the work to be done. I have eleven trees on approximately a 1/2 acre. A silver maple (mature), mountain ash (mature) and a apple tree in the front yard and a 2 locus ( 1 mature 1 smaller 5" dia) trees on the east side of the house and 2 Chinese elms (mature), 2 silver maples (mature) a golden ash (mature) and a green ash (smaller 5" dia). I had asked Marty if they had had any experience trimming apple trees and he said yes and that the trimmer had 20 year's experience trimming trees. When asked what I was looking to have done I mentioned that I hadn't had any experience trimming trees but the trees I had had never been trimmed or prune and that I thought they need to be cleaned up and that I understood a little about the need to "clean out" or thin the small stuff out of the center and just shape the tree in general. I showed him all of the trees in question. Marty indicated no problem and that I would be happy with the way they turned out. He gave me a price of $600.00 and that was to do all the trimming and cleanup the area when complete. Not being familiar with having hiring an outside contractor to do this type of work I had no idea of what I would expect to pay but thought that seemed reasonable enough. However I don't usually do things spur of the minute and I was hesitating giving the ok. Marty had asked "what it take to be able to do the that day" and given me a price of $400.00 which I again thought wow that seem real good. However I had asked him for a number I could reach him at and said I would call within an hour. Like I said I don't usually do things spur of the moment especially dealing with strangers. Oh I did as if he had insurance licenses etc and he said sure the crew would have that. So anyway he left. I did a little checking and it seemed everything was on the up and up and after an hour I did call him and give him the ok. He mentioned they would be over in about 20 minutes. At about 3:30 the crew started to arrive. And shortly after Marty got there. Well guys were milling around getting set up Gary had started trimming the silver in the front yard and Marty and I walked out back still discussing what was to be done. One of your guys had climbed the Chinese elm in the back and started trimming. Marty and I were still discussing the work and I had not seen any paper work. It was when we were talking about a mature silver near my shed I got a feeling that maybe we weren't on the same page and had requested to Marty to get his guy out of the tree and stop the work. After expressing this about 3 or 4 times he finally did. We walked up to the front of the house and started discussing this some more. At that point Gary had approached us and asked what was wrong and we were introduced and after a short discussion with Gary and Marty I felt more comfortable. (Oh I did tell Gary I would take care of the apple tree) I had mentioned as I did with Marty I wanted the trees shaped up cleaned up as most of them had never been in a nursery or been trimmed before. At that point Marty and Gary walked around the house and went into the back yard. Hind sight being what it is I should have walked with Marty and Gary to hear what instructions Gary was receiving. But instead I went back in the house as I know I don't care for someone looking over my shoulder when I'm doing a job. So bottom line about 4:30 comes around a guy (didn't get his name) knocked on my kitchen door) and everyone is cleaning up and some were starting to leave. He had mentioned they were done and had asked if I had paid Marty and said I had not and asked where he was. Well Marty and I had walked around the west side of the house and out to the back yard. And were discussing what had been done. Marty had commented on how much work had been done and how nice it looked. I had noticed that four trees in the back yard that were discussed had not been touched and 2 of them Marty had specifically pointed out some limbs that would be taken off or trimmed. They were not. Marty then reminded me that I only was paying $400.00 for the work. I knew what I was paying and I knew what I was told would be done. Well we were both getting a bit hot and we walked back to the front of the house.
Oh and at this time ... I thought it was interesting that Marty said "this is what I have to put up with every f&$#g day". To which I mentioned "then maybe you might think there is something wrong" well he was right I was dissatisfied.
When we got to the front of the house Jamie heard us and stepped out of his truck and asked what was wrong Marty said I was dissatisfied and walked to his truck I tried to explain to Jamie everything that happened but I was angry and I'm not sure how well I had done explaining all of what happened. Jamie did ask what needed to be done to fix the problem and I told him the problem was your sales guy. I was not being very objective at that point. And I really was reacting to my anger with the situation. Jamie did mention they would come back and do some chipping if I needed or whatever to make it right. Well I did write out the check for $400.00 and wrote a note on it that the work was half done. I did give it to Marty and he handed me the only paper work I had seen a page torn out of a spiral notebook with your name Brad [redacted] and $400.00 written on it. I went back in the house and Jamie and Gary left and Marty left obviously as angry as I was spinning his tires as he left.
I chose to wait to write this note because I was angry at the time and one does not always act as rational as one should during that time. I did describe this situation accurately but I'm sure this is not all the words exchanged that day.
When Jamie had asked what needed to happen to make it right I really wasn't in a good frame of mind to make that call. At the time I didn't want to hold up your crew or call them back while this disagreement was taking place but chose to wait a few days while I settled down and collected my thoughts. To say the least this has not been a very pleasant experience for me. I know this may be the first you heard of this situation so I will wait to hear for you as to what your thoughts on this might be.
Best regards

I did not talk Marty down on his original price of $600.00 he offered it in order to "get the work" he was looking to fill out crew's day.
Please note crew arrival 3:30 to 4:30 pm give or take a maybe 15 or 20 minutes ... 02/24/2015 sunset 5:52pm. They were not here after sunset.
I was here all afternoon Brad never knocked on my door and to my knowledge has never set foot on my property. He never spoke to his crew while they were on my property.
I have pictures of the trees prior to the "service" as I like to document projects that I do around the house and I have pictures a day or two after they had done their work. This clearly shows that not all (11) the trees were completed. Note ... I have since completed the work myself as best I could as Brad had refused to do anything about it and blocked my text messages as of 05/03/2015.
And lastly because Brad was clearly not interested in resolving the Revdex.com complaint I did post a add on Craigslist on 06/20/2015 which read as follows ...... "Thinking of having Brxx'x Tree Trimming and Stump Removal do some work for you? You might want to check the Revdex.com for open complaints.
If you do choose to use him make sure you get everything in writing and that he shows you proof of insurance and or bonding and the business license. And most importantly do not ... do not ... pay him till the job is completed to your satisfaction."
It seem that might have gotten his attention ... I am truly sorry that this has turned into such a mess but I can't believe the arrogance Brad has shown in this whole matter.
By the way to clarify I have saved most of my attempted phone contact info and failed texts ... before and after photos etc.
Best regards

+1

I am rejecting this response because:
Guy charged us 500 bucks for an hour’s work, and thinks it was a fair price. And he didn’t come close to cleaning up the brush.   Never trust a guy just in the area who calls and wants to stop by to give a quick estimate. Always get it in writing. Expensive lesson. Merry Christmas for about $400 bucks worth, he arguably earned $100 fair and square.

I made a deal with [redacted]!! On clearing a corner of brush and trees that he wanted done!!  And that's exactly  what I done!!!!  I told him $600 for that!! And that was it!! He asked how much for the stumps and I said $85 FOR THE BIGGER ONES AND $65 FOR THE SMALLER ONES WOULD BE ABOUT...

$350!! BUT I SAID I COULD NOT  DO THEM NOW!!! HE SAID OK!! BUT I SAID I COULD DO THE TREES AND BRUSH TODAY FOR THE $600!!  HE SAID YES GO AHEAD AND DO THAT!!  SO I LEFT TO GO GET MY TRUCK AND CHIPPER AND ANOTHER GUY TOO HELP!!  TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR WITH TRUCK CHIPPER MY HELPER AND 2 CHAN SAWS!!   WE GOT DONE AND HIS WIFE WAS ALL MAD AT BOTH OF US [redacted] AND I!!! SO I FELT BAD FOR HIM SO I GAVE HIM A $100 CASH BACK ON THE SMALL TREE JOB THAT WE DID!! MIND YOU I STILL HAD TO PAY FOR THE CHIPPER GAS CHAIN SAW GAS THE CHIPPER TRUCK GAS AND PAY TO DUMP THE TRUCK!! O AND THE TRUCK THAT I DROVE TOO LOOK AT THE JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE AND PAY FOR THE GUY TO HELP ME!! AND HE GETS 15% OF THE JOB!! I CARRY A 2 MILLION DOLLER INSURANCE POLCY!!  HONESTY I THINK HIS WIFE PUT HIM UP TOO THIS!! AND I WANT THAT HUNDERD DOLLERS BACK THAT I GAVE HIM!!
