The windows we had replaced leakWhen it rains or snows the water pours into our sunroom through the windows they repaired. We have been trying unsuccessfully to have it rectified but they ignore usDesired SettlementWe just want the windows to stop leaking Business' Initial Response We stand behind our work! In spring of 2010 the customer hired us to perform service on their sunroom. A 50% deposit was paid up front. The work was completed as agreed on 7/20/10. Upon completion the customer failed to pay the balance due. Several months passed [redacted] numerous attempts made on our part to collect the balance. On 11/17/10 they first told us about the leak, asking us to return and fix it. We agreed to do so on the condition that half the outstanding balance be paid first. The customer agreed but failed to send payment. Over the next 8 months we tried and failed to resolve the matter of payment. The matter of the leak was never mentioned during that time. On 6/27/11 the customer proposed to send us $100 per week, to which we agreed. They sent two checks in July that both bounced.On 8/1/11 we notified the customer the debt was being placed with a collection agency. There was no further agreements made, and no further mention of a leak until 6/28/13.Now, in the spirit of good will, we have agreed to dispatch, at our expense, a service technician to locate and determine the cause of the leak. We told the customer if it is determined to be a result of the work performed in 2010, that we will make the necessary repairs at our expense.Under the circumstances, I believe [redacted] is going above and beyond its responsibility to this customer. We remain committed to resolving this matter to the benefit of both parties. Consumer's Final Response They sent a tech to look at the leak and we have had nothing but the run around since. Every time I email to ask the status I am told they will get back to me. The water continues to pour into our home through the windows they replaced and it causing more damage. We now have come to the conclusion they had no intention of making right the faulty repairs. We have continued to keep our end of the bargain and continue to pay for the remaining balance even though the leak is worse now than before they did the "repairs" they were contracted to do. Business' Final Response We sent a technician to review the source of the leak on August 7, 2013. We sent the same technician that inspected the original leak 3 years ago, so he was familiar with the job. The customer was originally informed in 2010 that all the glass had failed and they needed to replace the roof and front wall glass. [redacted] informed the technician it was too costly and asked them to take care of the biggest problem which was the roof shingles and roof glass. She chose not to have any work done on the front glass at that time.At the technician's most recent visit, he observed there were no leaks or issues with the work on the roof, which was completed in 2010. He did see leaks in the front wall glass wall which runs down the front glass to her wood sill. The glass needs to be replaced and reglazed. This was never a scope of the work performed in 2010.In addition, [redacted] never paid for the work that was completed in 2010 and after being told many times that the 'check was in the mail' we had to contact a collection agency. We take pride in our service and product but cannot honor claims that are dishonest. The glass in question has never been replaced or work on by any of our technicians so we cannot honor any claims of faulty workmanship.Thank you.
