I am immigrant with limited skills in English with my native dialect of Taglog.  The dentist did not have any forms in Tagalog and knew I was unsure of what I was reading/signing and am taking advantage by holding my dental records hostage, because they know my new dentist will not see me without the dental records or I will have to pay twice for the new dentist to do the same things.  This is not the first dental practice I have used in limited time in the USA,but it is the first dental practice to hold my records hostage.  Charging me any money to attach a document to an email and then hit “send” is extortion at the very least.

Review: I transferred my dental records from a Georgetown dentist to Brafman Family Dentistry, as Brafman's is closer to my job and would hopefully be more convieant.I am unhappy with their service as the dental hygienist hurt me during a routine cleaning and exam.My husband and I decided to transfer to another dentist and asked Brafman Family Dentistry to transfer "my dental records" to the dental office my husband chose, which is closer to our home in Millsboro.The receptionist at Brafman's insist that we pay a "$20 transfer fee".No fee was required from the original dentist and we have spoken with other dental professional who all claim that this $20 transfer fee is unprofessional and not an industry norm of dentistry practice. I dental representative even said "they are extorting money from me by holding the records.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money refunded and their extortion practices to end.
