I spoke with [redacted] from the business and he stated that the consumer has a 10kw heat pump in the system and wanted a 15kw heat pump instead. That change is not covered under the warranty and his company would not be able to assist in the changes that would have to be made. When he went to the...

consumer's home, the heat was up to 85 degrees, and stated that the heat will not come on with the set that high.

Review: I'e been in contact with Bragg's Construction Co. since 12/03/2013 about fixing my Electric heat pump HVAC unit in my home. [redacted] got his electrician out on 12/15/2013 to try and find problem. He replaced a heat strip and the problem wasn't fixed. I have been calling and calling but all calls go to voice mail and hanging up with no return calls. [redacted] told me that my heat strip isn't strong enough for this cold weather and he needs to replace our lower 10kw strip for a 15kw strip. I finally got in contact with [redacted] and his son, and they are saying the problem is with the electrician lying to me and not coming out himself. It's been very cold and we have been buying fuel oil for a portable heater because our heat pump isn't heating up hot enough to keep our house warm. [redacted] is still not taking my calls, when I try contacting his son now, it's the same thing with him. Bragg's Construction is not excepting or returning any of my calls. I just got the heat pump put in with a 10 year warranty only last March, it has not even been a year. I finally take it upon myself to go to the hardware store and buy my own heat strip, and when I get to the store I see Bragg's Construction's electrician getting parts. I asked are they for me and he tells me no, they are for someone else. The electrician tells me that [redacted] is telling him to do other jobs that pay and not worry about my little small problem. Do other jobs that pay, and that he will take care of my problem. I got the electrician to tell them give me a call, but nothing yet. I've been trying for two month's now and nothing works. I had to get another electrician to come out and fix what was installed and hooked up wrong, to get my heat pump to work correctly. I had to buy a heat strip, new brakeramp, and wire nuts.Desired Settlement: I want Bragg's Construction Co. to pay for the work and the parts that I had to pay for myself and the bill from another electrician that fixed my problem. I have the bills and receipts for all the repair work that I got done. I also want to be repaid for having to purchase fuel oil for a portable heater also. I left [redacted], the owner of Bragg's Construction Co. a message that I got someone else to fix the problem and wanted him to reimburse what he should have done himself, not me finding someone to do it for me.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I know that [redacted] couldn't up grade the system for free we spoke about that, but he never came back out about the heat pump not getting enough current to it. His electrician told him it is not enough current coming to the unit to run it properly, but he never would come back and fix the problem. I couldn't let my wife and child sit in the cold. The morning his electrician came out I had a kerosene heater and two space heaters running, it was 22 degrees out side. He knew I had heaters running because I told him before he came and when he got here. I called and called but no answers, phone straight to voice mail. I was tired of calling and calling, texting and not getting any answers. What else did I have to do, so I called another electrician to find out what was wrong with the current. When the other electrician got here he ran the same tests the [redacted] electrician did and not enough current. Instead of leaving and not fixing the problem, they tested the meter box, braker box, and thermostat to see where the issue was. They found it in the braker box and thermostat, wasn't properly connected right and grounded. The auxiliary emergency heat wasn't even hooked up. I told [redacted] and his electrician that back in December, his response was that it wasn't cold enough then to make it come on, and that we were not used to the new electric heat yet. I am having problems with the windows he installed also but he is still not answering my calls so that I can get those taken care of. Two of the window seals fell out and the outside window wrap is tearing away from the house. He won't take my calls to address that issue either. Do I need to file another complaint or will this be resolved with this issue too. I don't know so everything that I cannot get him out to fix I will just file new complaints also.
