A week ago, a screen came up that said I had a registration error. It said, don't turn off the computer, don't restart, don't use the internet, just call the number. I called them. First clue is that no one answered saying saying they were with Microsoft. But I was stupid enough to leave my number. I kept trying to get through. Yes I was somewhat panicked. Someone answered, they said they were with Microsoft and they could help me. Then they took over my computer showing that someone else was using an IP address from a foreign country-in a column. (IT was them!!!) But I was so gullible, but somehow as I was just about to finished giving them access to my checking account, I stopped with the last digits. THEY ARE HACKERS!!! Plain and simple criminals-trying to scare people into giving them money. Speak with an Indian accent, and are indeed in India and California. Please do not fall for their ploy. As soon as I refused to enter the last digits, my computer was up and running just fine. Still I got it cleaned professionally, and the error came up again a few days ago. This time we kept closing it, and finally got rid of the page. Now have to get more advice for security on my computer. Definitely deserve an F-.
