The customer called me to say that she received an EOB from her insurance company and that she did not have an extensive medical examinationI told her that we billed her insurance company for procedure code which is an office visit for a new patient and procedure code which is a
psychotherapy session minutes with patient evaluation and management servicesShe kept insisting that I billed under the wrong code because she did not have a medical examinationShe in no way had any treatment with that dTMS machine thingI tried to explain to her that her appointment was for a new patient intake and was billed under the correct procedure codesShe then went on to say that she wanted to be billed the amount she was quoted from the office manager, ***I asked her what that was and she said between $and $And her insurance has a high deductible and didn’t want her insurance to be billed at allI asked her if she wanted to be cash pay and she said yes but that she wasn’t going to pay $for the visit because all she had was an office visit and I only billed her insurance company $I tried to explain to her that the amount is a set amount for that procedure code and not for cash pay accountsShe insisted over and over that she only had an office visit and nothing moreThis patient was in the room with Dr*** for over minutes and he evaluated her as a new patientThis patient clearly does not understand procedure codes, insurance companies, or cash pay accountsAND she has no intention of paying for the medical services rendered to her in good faith!! I do not know what her diagnosis is but I sincerely hope she gets the help she needs. *** ***
