I am rejecting this response because:I have contacted Blue cross blue shield and was told it was paperwork supplied by B M S that was not correctI still think April to August is an extraordinarily long time to wait for reimbursement.I also only rented the bed for days not months Maybe that contributes to them not getting reimbursed

[redacted] Hard Copy Attached ***I am writing in response to complaint [redacted] that was submitted in regard to [redacted] and a hospital bed that was rented for her husband. I have researched this issue and found that we, as of today's date, have not received payment for this bed from the... insurance company. We had to get a prior authorization for the hospital bed from the insurance company to get it paid, Ms. [redacted] didn't want to wait, which is why she paid for the first months rent. We did send the documentation to the insurance and did get it authorized but when we billed it Blue Cross Blue Shield they denied the claim, and have continued to deny the claims. On August 8, 2016, [redacted] from our billing office, talked to Gilbert at Blue Cross Blue Shield, who assured us that they will reprocess both April and May for payment and they should have never denied. [redacted] did ask that Gilbert call Ms. [redacted] and tell her that the error is and has been on Blue Cross Blue Shield's part not the fault of Brainerd Medical Supply. I apologize for the problems and confusion, I know that having to do a prior authorization for a hospital bed makes zero sense, if you need a bed, you need a bed NOW. We, however, do not make the rules for these insurance companies. As soon as Blue Cross Blue Shield actually processes and pays this claim, we will take care of this for Ms. ***. Dear Ms***, The claim for 04/22/did finally process as paid today 08/29/2016, as you can see by the enclosed explanation of benefitsI am enclosing a check to Mrs*** for a refund of $198.78, which is the $less the patient copay of $21.22, check (This check is being sent directly to Mrs***.)The claim for 05/22/is still in process per Spencer at Blue Cross Blue Shield provider servicesThe have, once again, assured us that they will contact Mrs*** and explain that Brainerd Medical Supply did in fact have all the paperwork done to get these claims paid.I whole heartedly agree that April to August to get a claim paid is too long, we don't like to wait for our money either and I sincerely wish that insurance companies would pay claims when we submit them rather than do this ridiculous run around and all this jumping through hoopsWe try to do all our footwork prior to putting out equipment so that clients know up front what they are going to be responsible to payInsurance companies now have a number of things that require a prior authorization but clients often can't wait for the approval to get the needed equipment, and even when you have the prior authorization, we are still at the mercy of the claims processor at the other end. Hopefully between this letter and the phone call that I am depending on Blue Cross Blue Shield making to Mrs*** this should clear up the issue for the April date of serviceI apologize for the length of time but it really isn't something I or my staff have any control over.
