Per your request, here is my account of the events as related to Mr [redacted] .Mr [redacted] came into my business, Brainwave PC, on 10-30-and picked out a usedlaptop that I had for sale.I took the machine, plugged it in and booted it up on my front counter and showed himthat it booted, that it was charging the battery, and that it was is great used condition. He paid for it with a personal check, signed the receipt, and took the laptop home.Mr [redacted] came back in on 10-31-and told me that the power jack was brokenIimmediately noticed upon inspection that the front right corner was damaged, and thepower jack was completely broken off inside the computerHad this been broken whenhe bought it, there would be no way for me to plug it in and show him that it was chargingthe battery and working.Because I care about my customers and Mr [redacted] seemed like a nice guy, I fixed thepower jack for free (took me about minutes to disassemble, repair, and reassemble thelaptop normally a $flat-rate repair). He took the laptop home again, and came back on 11-2-saying that the computer wascrashingI inspected it, and could not find any evidence of the shutdowns he wasreferring toI told him that since it was dropped it could have damaged the hard drive, and he proceeded to tell me he did not want the computer I explained that all sales were final, and that the problems he was experiencing were aresult of him dropping the machine but I would be glad to offer him a full store credittowards another computer, but he refused to take the computer and told me to “just rip upthe check”I told him that I had already deposited the check and he said “fine, I will juststop it”.He left without taking the laptop that he purchased, and went to his bank and put a stopon the check. Now I am stuck with a broken laptop that I cannot resell because it is crashing anddamaged, a $returned check fee, and a bad checkI tried calling Mr [redacted] on theday the check got returned and talking to him to try and work something out but he justyelled at me over the phone and hung up on me.As a business owner, I VERY highly value my customers and I go way out of my way tomake them happyI tried to make Mr [redacted] happy but offering him a full $credit inmy store towards any other computer, but he flat out refused.Sincerely yours,Mark G***Brainwave Computers, LLC

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Hello [redacted],
Thank you for your attention to this mater.
In response to Mr. G[redacted] reply,
Mr. [redacted] came into my business, Brainwave PC, on 10-30-15 and picked out a used laptop that I had for sale. I took the machine, plugged it in and booted it up on my front counter
True
and showed him that it booted
True and false, he booted it up and told me it was good to go
that it was charging the battery, and that it was is great used condition.
False, he said nothing of the kind
He paid for it with a personal check, signed the receipt, and took the laptop home. Mr. [redacted] came back in on 10-31-15 and told me that the power jack was broken.
True
I immediately noticed upon inspection that the front right corner was damaged,
False, the computer was in the same condition it was when I bought it. But he DID accuse me of dropping it and I immediately denied it.
and the power jack was completely broken off inside the computer.
True, that’s why I brought it in. The computer shut down reading 1% battery after only 10 minutes of setting it up at home. There was enough battery in his store to boot it up.
Had this been broken when he bought it, there would be no way for me to plug it in and show him that it was charging the battery and working.
False, the laptops he has for sale all sit on a rack and are closed and off. They could sit there for days or weeks and have enough power to boot up and send out the door.
Because I care about my customers
Unsure, it seems Mr. G[redacted] is no stranger of acting in a deceitful manner. [redacted]
[redacted]
I ?xed the power jack for free (took me about 45 minutes to disassemble, repair, and reassemble the laptop normally a $125 ?at-rate repair).
True, as far as I know, that is what he told me but I have never seen a menu of his charges and never had repair work done at his business before.
He took the laptop home again, and came back on 11-2-15 saying that the computer was crashing.
True, the computer overheated after 30 minutes of use and shut down. I called him after business hours and told him I would be bringing it in to return it on Monday. I didn’t receive a call back from him and brought it in as I said I would.
I inspected it, and could not ?nd any evidence of the shutdowns he was referring to.
True, however he certainly didn’t use it long enough to heat up and shut down.
I told him that since it was dropped it could have damaged the hard drive, and he proceeded to tell me he did not want the computer.
False, all he told me was, he couldn’t see anything wrong with the laptop. He only accused me of “dropping it” the first time I brought it back to him.
I explained that all sales were ?nal,
True
the problems he was experiencing were a result of him dropping the machine
False, he told me the problem must have something to do with my printer software and there was nothing he could do about it.
I told him that since it was dropped it could have damaged the hard drive
False
he proceeded to tell me he did not want the computer
True
but I would be glad to offer him a full store credit towards another computer
False, the only time he “offered” a store credit was when he posted replies to reviews I made on YELP and Google [redacted]
he refused to take the computer
True
and told me to “just rip up the check”
False
I told him that I had already deposited the check and he said “?ne, I will just stop it”.
False
He left without taking the laptop that he purchased,
True
and went to his bank and put a stop on the check
False, how would he know where I went or what I did?
I tried calling Mr. [redacted] on the day the check got returned and talking to him to try and work something out but he just yelled at me over the phone and hung up on me
True and false, Mr. G[redacted] called me shortly after 1PM at work. Not recognizing the number I answered and told him I could deal with him at that time (personal business at work) and immediately disconnected the call. I couldn’t “yell” as I work in share office space. He called back right away and left a voicemail threatening to have the sheriff’s office forcibly take me to the bank the get the money. I have a timestamped voicemail available if needed.
As a business owner, I VERY highly value my customers and I go way out of my way to make them happy.
This is coming into question as I find more “reviews” about Mr. G[redacted] and his business.
Mr. G[redacted] has since turned this over to collections costing me more time and money than my original complaint. Satisfaction of this complaint and monetary considerations have already exceeded my original request of $25.00 and continue to mount upon the outcome of such actions.
I am willing to undergo polygraph testing to validate the truth of my statements or appear in court where lying is a criminal offense. I would offer the same to Mr. G[redacted].
Respectfully Submitted
[redacted]Sincerely,[redacted]
