Review: We were vacationing in Flagstaff and our car over heated, we took it in to Brake Masters and the mechanic said the problem was with the fan so we told him to go ahead n fix it. We picked up the car on June 27 and asked about the guarentee the owner said" your car tail lights" then said 90 days. By July 1 our car over heated again we took it back since it had 90 days guarentee, the mechanic looked at it and said it had blown the head gasket, I told him then the fan was not the problem and he said "oh no your fan was bad" Then he went and looked at the car and came back with a paper telling me that it was going to cost $1,892.00 to fix my car and I would have "a brand new car"I asked if that was all the total cost and they said" yes" Then I signed the work order sheet, but they didn't give me a copy, they still did not explained why it had overheated with the brand new fan. We had to get back to Idaho so told them to go ahead and fix it. They said they would get it fixed by Friday but since it was 4th of July they said then by Thursday. By Thursday we went to check on the car because they never called to let us know how the work was going and the mechanic said he had never told me by Thursday but by Saturday it would be done. Again the same problem, now that they had recieved defective parts but it should be ready by Monday and again the same story by Tuesday they were still not done. We told them we had to leave and we would be back by Sunday to pick up the car on Monday and they said " for definate it will be ready" . I went back to get my GPS from the car and the mechanic said" look I think this might be the problem why the car won't start". WE left and came back Monday and the car was still not done We went and the owner said it should be done early on Monday and I asked like what time early and I said like by 2 and he said yes, then we asked him that we shouldn't be charged extra for labor because they were the ones taking longer than normal and he said no and that he didn't foresee any more problems and that it wasn't their fault they had recieved defective parts. They finally called and said the car was running but they had some minor adjustments and it would be ready by Tuesday around 10:30 by 11:00am they called and said we have good news and bad news we went to pick up the car and they came up with a totally different order sheet not the one I had signed this one had $1,830 plus some extra parts that they never called to authorize I asked the assistant manager where my signed work order sheet was and they said it had got lost by the end the total came to $2,292.11 we were upset but as much as we tried to get an explanation they didn't the only thing the mechanic said was" we can take the parts off"!! We finally paid the bill and since it was pouring rain and the car was outside we didn't check under the hood. When the rain stopped we opened the hood and the bolt to the dip stick was hanging out, the bolt to the alternator was broke and there was a loose hose, we called them and we took it back. The mechanic and the assistant manager came out and looked under the hood and they said" we don't know where that hose goes because we didn't work on that and your bolt on the alternator was broken we can tighten the screw to the dip stick but you have to bring it back in tomorrow!!! We had to leave in the morning, so we just left very unsatisfied with their service.Desired Settlement: I just want them to honor the first quote they had given us and to refund the difference to our credit card plus we want a discount for all our lost time. Now we have to take it to another mechanic so they can finish their half way done work to our car we ask they pay for that bill too.

Review: brake masters (156 same owner) replaced the belts on my wife's car.... after she asked for an oil change. I went back and showed them receipts proving belts had a total of 132 miles on them and did not need replacing. Manager, Jeff Bee refused refund. Offered oil change coupons. When I tried to use them, he stated my daughters truck was too tall for his garage.Desired Settlement: I want to return the "free" oil change coupons for a refund.
