Bramblewood Townhouse & Garden Reviews (1)

The rent is not worth the constant breaking of appliances.Since March 18th, of last year (3 mo. into staying at our new place), I have had to constantly put in a service request for my apartment. On average they have to come out my apartment every other month, even several times within the same month for the same issue. Usually, it was/is the A/C breaking. There would times of no heat in the winter, no cold air during the summer; on a few occasions something broke and would cause a flooding and since the unit is located inside it would reach the living room carpet. They'd rip up the carpet and put a fan on usually for a week or more to help dry it which wasted the electricity I have to pay for. Couldn't even put a new carpet down and after all the service there'd always be a moldy smell lingering here and there. Again, this has happened more than once.Recently, last and this month to more specific, the fridge has been giving us problems. At first it started leaking reaching into the living room but not to the extent of how the A/C did. Was told to not fill my freezer as much as I do but with diet restrictions, and having time to cook it can't be helped at times. Even when I hadn't bought much to fill the freezer instead buying a lot of refrigerator items the cooling in the fridge stopped working and groceries that had just been bought were spoiled. Again, they came out to fix it and again the fridge broke.Asked them to come fix it Friday, either no one got the service request or they're just tired of coming out here, which you can see why. Money is tight and now I barely have no food; I'd been fed up long ago paying a price for such apartments that can't stay fixed. But, having little money and now little food after just being purchased is the last straw. The maintenance people, I believe, do good work; heard them say that they've seen other A/C's break and flood apartments.I'm just tired of paying for overpriced housing, having to come home and find something constantly breaking.Desired SettlementHonestly, as stated, with what little money we I have and not being compensated/able to get the money wasted on the spoiled food, a credit for next's month rent would suffice. Though, management might think that's asking too much.If I can't get that, I don't know what other resolution would be satisfying. Business Response Bramblewood Townhouse & Garden Response, 08 September 2016 At the outset, it is important to understand that this resident has never once called or stopped in the community management office to discuss any problems or issues with respect to his apartment or living experience. He has apparently sent maintenance requests via our electronic work order system. Over approximately two years, we received 20 requests for service. These requests ranged from service related to the toilet, the air conditioning, the refrigerator, and complaints about a broken window glass and a wet carpet. All of the emergency service requests were completed within 24 hours and non-emergency requests were completed within 72 hours. Since our management office has no record of face-to-face interaction or any telephone/email/text complaints about the maintenance service from this resident, we are surprised by the complaint filed with the Revdex.com. We handled in a timely manner all the service requests filed electronically by this resident. Furthermore, the resident's service requests are all related to normal wear-and-tear product and appliance issues. Our records clearly indicate that we responded in a timely manner to all maintenance calls. In addition, the management team has no record of ever receiving any form of complaint from the resident. Therefore, it is our position that the resident's claims are unfounded and without merit.Consumer Response Who says I have the time to step into the management office? What if my work schedule coincides with when the office is open? How is an A/C unit breaking every other month or flooding the living room natural wear and tear? In my years of living not once I knowingly lived in a place that has had appliances break so regularly. I've filled out surveys they send about my dissatisfaction with things breaking, being fixed, and then breaking right after being fixed. I have saved emails about links to the surveys and I saved emails about the maintenance reports. I don't have an issue with when my compliants are responded to. I have an issue with this cheap apartment that's over priced. I like where I live, I'm just asking for an apartment that stays fixed. Haven't even lived in these apartments for two years. If you want talk about records, it'll be two years next year. Final Business Response Our onsite office and maintenance teams have responded to every work order request received from this resident (within 24 hours for those defined as emergency items and within 72 hours for non-emergency items). Based on this resident's most recent comments, they admit that they have no complaint with the our response to their work order requests. Their issue appears to be related to their value perception of the apartment, stating "this cheap apartment" that is "overpriced". This is entirely a subjective opinion from the resident, and holds no merit with us. Given Fair Housing laws, which we strictly abide by, we are not in a position to modify his current lease agreement, nor his monthly rental rate, as this may be interpreted as a Fair Housing violation. We continue to stand behind our original statement that our company and staff have quickly and professionally responded to each and every work order request provided to us, and that this complaint is without merit. The Community Manager will be reaching out to this resident to provide them with a gift card for the loss of any perishable items in their refrigerator.
