She gave me a check which I deposited into my business account, waited for it to clear and then purchased the materials.  I explained all of this to her.  This was delayed by several days as she did not want any one in her house and kept the door locked and even the gate to the yard...

locked.  We were removing an electric furnace with a gas furnace and installed an air return vent.  She had a 3 ton unit for a 2 1/2 story home and this unit is too small for the home.  She claimed it would not cool the upstairs so she always had the window unit on.  I started her current unit up and it shut off immediately.  It was low on freon.  She claims she installed the unit 5 years, but the manufacturer [redacted] went out of business 10 years ago.  I checked to make sure there were no leaks, started it up and it shut down.  I told her there was air in the lines and the system would not take any more freon.  I had already put in 4lbs of freon.  I told her it would need a run cap and it would cost $168.  She said OK.  I purchased the run cap and before I could return she called another company to replace it.  I asked why she did that and her response was to save money.  I asked her if she wanted me to continue and she said yes.  But, she called the City Inspector who came out and passed all of my work, except the fact that I opened the breaker box.  They changed the mechanical code where from now on I would need to contact an electrcian to work on the breaker box.  I now have to go before the Electrical board for this violation.   I have done nothing wrong and there is nothing more I can do for her.
