June 17, The patient's family contacted our office for an appointment to have a procedure done November 4,The dental insurance given to us at the time of her extraction was *** ***Prior to extraction of the tooth we obtained a *** x-rayThe patient's co-payment of $was collected from the patient after the extraction and we billed her insurance company for their portion.Explanation of Benefits received from *** *** on December 3,2013, states the *** was not a covered benefit the Teported procedure is covered once in a year period and patient did not meet their $deductible therefore the patient was then billed the remainder of their responsibility according to the EOB.Multiple statements went out to the guarantor of the insurance to the address provided on fileThe email received by the complainant was answered / replied via email within days, act which time he replied “Let’s just see where my complaint with the Attorney Generals office goes..The financial responsibility was signed by the patients mother that outlines responsibility for any coinsurance, deductible, co-payments and all procedures not covered by their insurance company, plus any unpaid balances after a certain period of time that are charged a statement fee with finance charges.Our collection agency fees have been removed from the patients balance and the account was removed from the collection agency.On June 17, 2014, *** from the Office of Attorney Generals Office contacted us stating the complainant would like to resolve the issue and is willing to pay the amount owed to us of $We accepted this and the account will be cleared once the payment is received.We would appreciate showing that in good faith to our patient we rectified the situation, came to an agreement and resolved the issue

Review: Received bill from Brandywine Oral Surgery after insurance was billed. Twice emailed asking for explanation, received NOTHING. Today received bill from [redacted] asking for me to call Brandywine Oral Surgery and pay in full. BUT not the bill is fifty dollars more the they can pay their collection agency, when all they had to do was provide me with why I was be billed after insurance we applied and I would have paid the original bill. I will not be extorted. I am also filling this with the PA Attorney Generals Office as they are not going to make money on me because of incompetent people not being able just to explain why I owe the additional money.Please warn other people of the this extrusion tactic.Desired Settlement: I need a letter explaining what was paid and what was not and the original bill amount and a letter of apology.

The patient's co-payment of $15.90 was collected from the patient after the extraction and we billed her insurance company for their portion.Explanation of Benefits received from [redacted] on December 3,2013, states the [redacted] was not a covered benefit the Teported procedure is covered once in a 3 year period and patient did not meet their $50 deductible therefore the patient was then billed the remainder of their responsibility according to the EOB.Multiple statements went out to the guarantor of the insurance to the address provided on file.
