Brankstone Construction Reviews (1)

My personal experience with [redacted] has been a very terrible one to say the least. We bought a new home from him in early 2012. Our contract stated, like most new constructions, that within the first year of owning our home he would fix any problems we had with the home. He also told me personally that he would happily fix any problem we had. (This is before we bought our home) Since that time he has attempted to weasle his way out of every problem that we have had with the house. Issues range from replacing a poorly manufactured entry door to fixing the sheetrock that was poorly put up in our master bathroom and more. Upon contacting him to fix these issues he has done nothing but given me the run around. He has tried to do anything possible to save himself money instead of fixing things properly. He does not return phone calls to him and barely returns text messages. Scheduling a time for him to fix these problems is next to impossible. Not only is getting him to the house nearly impossible, he is always rude when we speak. His customer service skills are very poor. Now it is August on 2013 and we still have things that we haven't gotten fixed due to him. In fact just this morning he hung up in my face. I have not once been unruly to him. He has single handly made our first home buying experience a horrible one. We do love our home but working with him makes buying from him not worth the stress.Desired SettlementI want people to be informed about this business and his low down tactics. His customer service skills need substantial work to better improve how this business is ran. I would hate for anyone that I know and care about to have to be subject to the stress that he has created for me and my family. Business Response February 14, 2014 To whom it may concern: This letter is in response to a complaint filed with the Revdex.com by [redacted] dated October 10, 2013. [redacted] and [redacted] purchased a home from Brankstone Construction on February 6, 2012. On January 7, 2012 both [redacted] and [redacted] completed an inspection of the home with a certified home inspector. on February 2, 2012 [redacted] and [redacted] did another inspection of the home and marked all paint and sheetrock issues. On February 3, 2012 Brankstone Construction touched up paint and repaired the sheetrock that were marked by [redacted] and [redacted]. Another inspection was done by [redacted] and [redacted] on the following Saturday, February 4, 2012. Upon completion of this inspection, [redacted] and [redacted] were satisfied that all of their issues had been resolved and they were satisfied with the condition of the home. [redacted] and [redacted] closed on their home on February 6, 2012. Three days later [redacted] called Brankstone Construction to notify us of a toilet and a sink that were leaking. Brankstone Construction immediately contacted a plumber and repaired the problem that day. Several months later Brankstone Construction receives a call from [redacted] regarding a problem with the wooden front door to the home. Brankstone Construction, within a week, sent a door expert to check the condition of the door. The door closed and sealed properly and there were no signs of rotting wood. Wooden doors are not all the same, there are always small imperfections in wooden doors that give them character. This was explained and approved by [redacted] and [redacted] when the home was purchased. After further inspection of the door, it was discovered that a polish or varnish that was not compatible with the door had been applied to the door by someone other than Brankstone Construction or one of their contractors. This polish or varnish damaged the appearance of the door. This was the complaint. Even though this damage was not covered under the Brankstone Construction warranty, Brankstone Construction offered to replace the door with a metal door. This was met with hostility by [redacted] and [redacted] and they rejected the offer. Brankstone Construction gives a 1 year warranty with every home it builds. Toward the end of this warranty period Brankstone Construction likes to schedule inspections with the home owner to repair and tou8ch up any areas that may have settled or been exposed over the course of the 1 year warranty. This process was extremely difficult with [redacted] and [redacted]. Twice contractors were turned away by [redacted] or [redacted] and were asked to return on Saturdays or Sundays. If a contract was to complete any work during the week they were told to do it after 4pm. It became very apparent that [redacted] and [redacted] were very hard to please and no one was going to make them happy. Brankstone Construction has been in business since 1998. We have provided the same caliber of service and the same warranty with every home we have built. We have never had a complaint registered with the Revdex.com and our work is applauded throughout the community. The bottom line is that [redacted] and [redacted] will never be satisfied. They are not welcoming to contractors who are there to help and make it almost impossible to schedule any repairs. Thank you for your time and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
