To Whom It May Concern, This is in response to complaint ID#[redacted]. Brea Towing provides roadside services to the North Orange County region servicing only [redacted] (The Auto Club of Southern California) and Law Enforcement Agencies. This particular customer, [redacted], had his vehicle...

impounded at a vehicle checkpoint. He was not present at the time, but let his friend drive his vehicle on that day. Mr. [redacted] friend was found to be under the influence and failed a sobriety test at the DUI checkpoint. Mr. [redacted] friend whom was driving his car was arrested at the scene. Thereafter, the police department called Brea Towing to tow Mr. [redacted] vehicle into our yard under the authority of California Vehicle Code CVC 22651. The California Highway Patrol officer that arrested the driver and called for the tow, also documented on his official CHP form that there were scratches and dents found on the vehicle prior to the tow. Later when Mr. [redacted] came to our facility to pick up his car, he claimed that we had caused damage to his front bumper. We informed him that the CHP officer had already documented this on the CHP form and he should take this up with his friend that was driving his vehicle while under the influence. He began to get belligerent and unprofessional. We tried to explain this to Mr. [redacted] on several occasions but he refused to listen and began threatening to post complaints about our company on social media and other online sites. I hope this explanation sufficiently serves to clear our name of this complaint.   Best Regards,*

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
Chris RyanSam the owner is lying. The police report notes miner dents/scratches 360  with no circles on the vehicle section to indicate the major visible damage of the front bumper hanging off. Yes their is minor scratches on the rear of the vehicle and some paint chips on the front hood as those are miner as indicated.  This section is specifically their to note major damage.  Maybe he thinks $1200 is miner damage but I don't. I have pictures how the front bumper was hanging  off when I received the vehicle from them. I also have the police report with no indication of major damage on the report or circled. Also Jim Dunn his manager has lied to the other party and me about his communication with Sam. He told me Sam reviewed the video tapes and seen nothing wrong. When I spoke to Sam he said he had not viewed them. With all the lies they've told plus saying I was buligerent is very odd from a professional business. If you need the report & pictures I can provide them. Also Brea towing records all conversations so they would have them lying to Suzanne and myself on tape. Also both Sam & Jim said they would call me back and try and resolve this and I have yet to hear back from them. More lies. This would resolve the false claims they are making. I prefer to use real evidence verse word of mouth. Thank you Chris Ryan

Review: My son totaled his truck in May 2014 and we verbally signed the truck over to Brea Towing the following day. The verbal signing over of the truck was via phone. On the phone, I asked the Brea Towing employee if I needed to come in and sign anything for the truck and they told me that because this is a recorded call, my verbal confirmation was enough. I now received a letter from a collections agency stating that I owe Brea Towing $2,028.34 for storage and processing fees. I called Brea Towing for a week trying to talk to someone who can answer my questions. On 9/30/14 I finally demanded that someone talk to me and they gave me a cell number to call. I reached a person by the name of Ali who treated me like a criminal and told me that there's no such thing as "verbal confirmation" and I just need to pay the fees. I told him that I never got an invoice for any fees and he told me that he did not have to send me anything regarding what fees I owed. I should have just known to pay $640 at the time. I told him that I can't pay anything if I don't get notification. He said it wasn't his problem and hung up on me. I then called my insurance agent and she called the towing company on a three way line. She demanded that I get a copy of the recording stating that I give the vehicle over to the towing company and that I did not need to sign any papers of release. We were then put on hold for a long time so I hung up while my insurance agent stayed on the phone. Brea Towing is refusing to work with me and I feel they are trying to scam me out of $2,028.34.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter from Brea Towing stating that I don't owe them any money, as the initial recorded conversation stated. I would also like a copy of that recording and for Brea Towing to write a letter to the credit bureau fixing my credit score they have now damaged.
