Response from our subcontractor that completed the portion of the work the ***s are
discussing: "On or about August 1st I met with *** *** He expressed to me he had an idea of what he wanted, but no prints or drawings I told him I couldn't guarantee anything with the way he described what he wanted, but that I would do my best On August 16, I began the work He was very pleased with the work the entire two weeks I went back two more times after completion because he thought he had a leak The second trip to his house was three months after completion I never saw any evidence of a leak, but tried to take extra measures The third trip to his house, Mr*** said he "knew where the leak was, but wouldn't tell us, we should be able to find it Just give me the $750," so I wasn't able to make any repairs since it wasn't actively leaking I've never had a complaint in my 25+ years in business."Mike E***, E*** Construction, LLC - *** I would add that the ***s were very difficult to work with from the beginning and Mr*** cussed at and hung up on our office staff We came into this project after they had hired someone else to do the work and then fired them halfway through the job and started the process of suing them Since we were the second company doing the work, we assumed that a permit had been pulled for the project, when we completed their work they called the permit office on us and turned us in for not getting a permit That cost us over $ They also sent us a 16-point "punch list" that covered items that were not included in our estimate, however; as a sign of good faith, we completed all the items they requested We have done everything in our power to work with the ***s

As we do not believe we will ever come to any agreement on this, we are agreeing to disagree Wood's went above and beyond to satisfy this client and do not believe that there is anything further we can do Wood's will have our attorneys draft an agreement releasing us from any further liability on this entire project Once that is signed by the ***s and returned to Wood's we will forward a check for the $ As soon as our attorneys have finished the agreement, Woods will upload as an additional response to complaint

I am requesting a couple of additional days to respond to this complaint We used a third party to complete the work that he is complaining about and I'm compiling info from him to submit

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
June 15, 12017Complaint ID [redacted]Reply to Wood's Construction Services, LLC[redacted] and [redacted] original plan was to improve our property with a concrete drive, carport attached to garage and house and a covered patio.  Our plan including being able to go from the backdoor of house to garage and be under a roof.  Because the house and garage don't line up parallel, it was going to be a challenge.  Mike E[redacted] said he thought it could be accomplished..  When we presented our plan to Amanda Woods, she suggested we have 2 house eve drains placed under the concrete driveway and suggested we have a 4 foot sidewalk across the front of the house and replace the exciting sidewalk from front door to city sidewalk with a 4 foot walk.  We agreed to all of this. We told Amanda we just had the concrete drive poured 18 days prior and it was already cracking.  When I, [redacted],  called the [redacted] planning commissioners office about the cracks and our concerns about what kind of workmanship the former contractor would do on the carport,. we found out that he had not gotten a building permit for the carport or patio cover.  So he was fired.  The [redacted]s relayed all of this to Amanda. She said, “No problem, we always  get building permits when needed and the company is bonded and insured.”One concrete drain was installed, but is of no use because its under the new roof,  The second drain was not installed because the concrete truck arrived.  The walk from front door to city sidewalk is only 3 feet wide, because when they took out the old sidewalk a septic clean out cap was found.  We agreed to the 3 foot walk.  No mention of altering the amount we were to pay for one less drain nor 4 foot sidewalk.[redacted] and Mike E[redacted] discussed the design of the carport and patio roof.  They both agreed on the design.  Nothing was ever mentioned about a guarantee.  [redacted] had a doctor's appointment.  When he returned, Mike E[redacted] had changed the design of the carport.  [redacted] was not pleased, but he accepted it, knowing that a high profile truck would not fit under this structure.  The original carport had no front to the carport; it was all open.  But since the construction had begun, the [redacted]s accepted the new design. When the roof connecting the garage and patio was finished, it looked like a roofer had repaired a bad leak because of the way the shingles were placed and the amount of silicone that was used.  [redacted], [redacted] Realty, came and looked at it from the ground.  Her comment, “it would be hard to sell this house without replacing the roof.  It looks like you had a bad leak that was inadequately repaired. The patio roof had leaked from day one.  [redacted] would call Mike E[redacted] to report the leak and Mike said we would come fix it.  By the time he came the concrete floor of the patio had dried so there was not evidence of a leak.  Mike did come many times and each time he added more silicone.  [redacted] reported that it was still leaking toward the end of October, but because the [redacted]s were going to Florida for the winter, [redacted] would call their return.  While we were gone pieces of the silicone came lose and blew off the roof.  After the first rain in April, [redacted] called Mike again.  He said he would come and put on more silicone. Before Mike came, the [redacted]s had a contractor to give them an estimate for enclosing the patio.  Because this man is also a roofer the [redacted]s discussed with him about the leaks.  He looked at both roofs and said he could fix all of it for $750.00.  The [redacted]s agreed.  When Mike arrived, [redacted] told him he would not accept any more silicon and that [redacted] had discussed the problems with another roofer who said he would repair both roofs for $750.00.Mr. [redacted] did not cuss Amanda on the phone.  He called to say the roof was still leaking and that he had discussed the problem with another roofer.  Amanda hung up before Mr. [redacted] completed the sentence.  He called back and got the answering machine.  He said,  “I know you are screening your calls and I don't appreciate you hanging up on me. If I can't get satisfaction on this roof, I'm contacting the Revdex.com.”  Mrs. [redacted] called. She too got the answering machine.  So the complaint has been filed The [redacted]s did talk about suing the former contractor, but did not pursue the matter.Yes, they did provide siding for the back and front of the carport to complete the carport.  To complete the jog, the [redacted]s requested that all exposed wood be covered with flashing, but the [redacted]s had made several adjustment without the change price as noted above.
