claimed we caused the issue, is in an area that is not effected by the repairs we performed.
The first image shows where the tie rod end is and where we adjust it. Behind that, is where the seal is leaking. The tie rod pivots in a ball and socket as we adjust and does not touch or affect the seal at all. We do not hit or have to “jar” the tie rod in order to turn it.
The second image shows a close up of the ball and socket pivot point and the seal behind that. There were wrenching marks on the tie rod from adjusting it (this is very common on any vehicle when adjusting) but does not cause any issues at all.
I advised Mr. [redacted] we would replace the tie rod end at no charge because of the marks after adjusting. I showed him pictures and also raised the vehicle on the hoist to show him where the seal was located and how adjusting the tie rod had absolutely nothing to do with his seal leaking. I feel the leak is coincidental and not from performing the alignment. I also offered to re-balance and align his vehicle again at no charge if he was not satisfied. We are still willing to do that, but we are not culpable for the seal leaking.
