We bought Old English Sheep dog pups from Brennen Kennels We picked them from photos soon after they were born As they matured we questioned again and again why one of the puppies did not look pure bred ( short straight coat, muzzle was a different shape)We were reassured by Darlene that the puppy was definitely pure bred and that puppies "blow their coat" at months and would come in as expected, she also sited her years of experienceWe did our homework and de diligence and contacted references via email and tried several times to contact the vet number they gave usWe never got any response from the vet and only email from a reference(I question if it was even legit.) We drove hours to pick them up from the airportIt was obvious from first sight one pup was definitely not a pure bred The other one got within hours of being picked upWe contacted Darlene right away and after countless email back and forth with Brennen kennels about what we can do for the pup and buying all sort of things( pedialyte, rice, beef mixture) my husband and I decided the pup was too lethargic and barely moving and needed to see a vet ASAPAfter pup recovered I submitted the bill ($) as per their health guarantee and we got a run aroundEven though we followed the guarantee to the letter and kept in touch and did all we could they gave us the run aroundThey said they'd need their vet to review our bill to see if it was acceptableWe never received a dime! Then we were contacted by other people who had bought pups from the Brennen "Heartland" kennel who had concerns their pup was not a purebred eitherThey sent us photos of their pups that looked like ours and contacted the AKC In the end the AKC registration was REVOKED due to the numerous complaints by other buyers and selling non pure bred dogs as pure bredIn the end Brennen said they were going out of business and they would not refund any of our moneyAnd yet a year and a half later I see they are back up and running?! Thats outrageous! I have all emails kept on file from this awful experienceWe NEVER received any refund or compensation for the pups or the vet billJust excuses about how her daughter was on drugs and took over the business and she can't be held accountable for what her daughter did Kolby was the supped sire of our pupsI see now they are selling "Sheepadoodles" Im guessing this is because the AKC won't register any of their "Purebred" dogs anymore so they are breeding designer muttsDo not buy from this kennel!
