Brent's Termite Inspections Reviews (5)

On Dec11, our inspector conducted a full termite and dry rot inspection at the property He found termite tubing & damage behind the baseboard as explained in the termite report in which pictures were taken and sent to parties involved The area was tampered with several times after our inspection was completed as stated in the complaint We had no control on how much or how many times the area was tampered with, there fore it is certainly possible that it didn't look like what we originally found after the date of our inspection We stand by our report for the inspection performed on December and photos taken at that time Their representative (realtor) for the sellers, was the one who ordered us to do the termite treatment The service tech that was sent to do the termite treatment was told by the sellers that there was no termite activity and after inspecting the area stated to management that the area had been patched No one at Brent's Termite would ever lie about findings of an inspection We are sorry that the sellers feel this way, but there was definitely evidence of termite activity on the date of our inspection We have been completely honest and feel we have done no wrong in this matter All paperwork should have been signed at closing stating that all parties understand and accept all reports and recommendations

We did a termite/dry rot inspection for this property on July 28, As we noted on our report, stored items and furniture throughout home and garage limited the inspection. The homeowner did not contact us until October 20. She stated that there was no insects in the
house, but some live ants on front patio and in the yard. At no time did the homeowner state that there was any insect activity inside the house. We have no control over ants showing up outside the property from the time the inspection was done till the day we received the call. I decided that we should not be liable due to the length of time after the inspection was done and the date that the homeowner called us. As a termite inspection company, our job is to inspect the house and can not be held responsible for insects crawling around in the yard days after our inspection. During our phone conversation, I tried to civil, but homeowner was being unreasonable and rude when I explained to her that we should not be liable for situations out of our controlShe then demanded that we pay for a treatment for someone else to do the work and if we didn't then she would "file something against us". If she had called sooner and said that there was live insects INSIDE the house, we would have been happy to go back and take a look as the house was in CLUTTERED CONDITIONS at the time of inspection, but she DID NOT AT ANY TIME INDICATE THERE WERE INSECTS INSIDE THE HOUSE, ONLY IN YARD AND ON PORCH WHEN SHE CONTACTED ME. The statements made in this complaint are and untrue. I was taking notes while we were on the phone and clearly remember the conversation. In conclusion, I do not think I should have a complaint filed on Brent's Termite or should be held liable. We are now almost months from date of inspection and had not heard from her since that day, October 20. Per the inspection report, the inspection is only good on the day of inspection, see page 1, section 2, it states "the report is indicative of the condition of the above identified structure on the date of inspection only and is not to be construed as a guarantee or warranty against latent, concealed, or FUTURE infestations or defects. Also see page of report should have been understood by homeowner regarding inspection limitations and other pertinent informationIncluded above is document stating such

I am rejecting this response because: As stated before, the home was inspected six months previous to Brent's inspection and once after Brent's inspection by another reputable pest control company and both times they found NO evidence of any termite damage, current or past and gave us a report stating as suchBrent's is accusing us of tampering with the areaIt was never tampered with, only removing the baseboard to get a better lookThe original pictures taken by Brent's Termite Inspections showed no evidence of tubingThe real estate agent could see no evidence of tubing either from the photos taken by Brent's, nor could the other inspectorOur real estate representative would not have ordered the treatmentWhy would he do that when he is representing us? He is the one who saw no evidence in the original photosThe patching on the WALL above the evidence in question was a patch done years ago by my father who had poked a hole in the wall to add a cable t v extension, and then changed his mind and patched itWe agreed to the treatment because it might have cost us the sale of the property if we didn't treatThat doesn't make it rightI'm sure that Brent's does not want their business name sullied, but no one is perfect and there was no justifiable evidenceIt seems like this is one word against the other and cannot be resolvedBrent's is saying that they not lying about the inspection but are accusing us of lying about the patch and tampering with the baseboard which we did notLooks like a no win but I hope other consumers will read this report and come to their own conclusions about this company
Regards,

I did tell Brad that there were carpenter ants on the porch that were alive, but that I also had signs of them inside the home because I had seen a few live ones and many dead ones, because I had tried treating the homeI also would like to add that if Brad's was unable to inspect areas such as the porch the technician Wes should have noted it on the inspectionThe notes say about the porch that there was rot on wood patio covering noted, so I assumed that the porch was inspected for wood destroying insects as well

On Dec11, our inspector conducted a full termite and dry rot inspection at the property. He found termite tubing & damage behind the baseboard as explained in the termite report in which pictures were taken and sent to parties involved. The area was tampered with several
times after our inspection was completed as stated in the complaint. We had no control on how much or how many times the area was tampered with, there fore it is certainly possible that it didn't look like what we originally found after the date of our inspection. We stand by our report for the inspection performed on December and photos taken at that time. Their representative (realtor) for the sellers, was the one who ordered us to do the termite treatment. The service tech that was sent to do the termite treatment was told by the sellers that there was no termite activity and after inspecting the area stated to management that the area had been patched. No one at Brent's Termite would ever lie about findings of an inspection. We are sorry that the sellers feel this way, but there was definitely evidence of termite activity on the date of our inspection. We have been completely honest and feel we have done no wrong in this matter. All paperwork should have been signed at closing stating that all parties understand and accept all reports and recommendations
