After writing a positive review, this is an update 5 1/2 months later. I spent around $3500 to have a rebuilt transmission, complete brake job, and compete front end done. I was satisfied with the work upon completion. Recently I had a tie-rod failure. The nut was never tightened and work itself back and forth on the shaft until it finally slid over what was left of the beat up cotter pin. It fell off and left me stranded in a remote area. The towing service that was able to get me said immediately after looking at what happened said did you have that tie-rod installed recently? As to which I said yes. He said it was not installed properly and should never had fallen out. Upon going to 2 more mechanics with stellar reputations and not saying anything about what was my opinion and showing them the tie-rod, within 30 seconds, both said the nut was never installed right or tight as the threads were flattened. I took part to Brent at Brent's transmission and explained what happened. He preceded to tell me that it was the part that failed and he could do nothing. Funny after reading the complaint that someone else filed, same scenario. Told me to buy the parts. That way he feels he is not obligated to repair since he did not provide the parts. Bottom line, stay away from this shop. Every person I have talked has said this is a no brainer, Tie-rods do not just fall of and he should cover cost. I am just thankful the Tie-rod came undone at 3 miles per hour instead of with my family going highway speeds and the front wheel collapsing. As someone who was in business for 18 years, mistakes are made and you honor your customers if you screw up.

Brent at Brent's Transmission Service did and is continuing to do a tremendous job in helping me with my Chevy Pickup. Brent put in a new Transmission, complete front end job, front and back Brakes. He was very informative, straight to the point of what needed to be done. His rate was very reasonable. If he was performing a certain job but something else had to be done in the same general area he would say 'since we have this part off, we will do this particular work for half the labor rate. Have a front differential that needs repair, will be seeing Brent again soon. Great to see there are still honest, capable service business that genuinely still care.

Review: In april of 2014 I had Brents automatic transmissions rebuild a c4 transmission for me, with the purchase of the rebuild I was given a rebuilt transmission, new torque converter, 12000 mile or one year warranty, whichever comes first. I installed the transmission. I, as a mechanic have installed over 30 automatic transmissions and probably 20-25 manual transmissions without ever an issue and have dozens of people who would refer and prefer me as a mechanic over any shop in moses lake. after installation I was told to drive the rig to the transmission shop so they could make sure it works okay before the start of my one year warranty. after installing, I test drove the rig around the block to check the kickdown cable for adjustment and whatnot before I took it to brents and the rig seized up. I didnt even think that the freshly rebuilt transmission would be giving me problems so I automatically assumed that the engine seized up. I watched and waited around for months on end until I found another engine because its kind of a unique engine. when I finally got one, I went to change the engine and discovered that the transmission was what had seized. I called the transmission shop and they told me to bring it down, so I did. when I dropped it off they were claiming that I probably crushed the front pump upon installation. I have never crushed a front pump in my life, I know better and it's so easy to avoid that in my opinion no one should ever crush one. the mechanic was telling me right then and there that the sign of a front pump being crushed is that no transmission fluid would be dripping from the pressure line to the radiator but I checked both cooling lines before I left and they both had transmission fluid dripping from them. he claimed he would take a look at it and let me know if he was liable or not. the following monday I stopped by to see what was going on and it was still sitting there on the shop floor. he said he couldnt get it apart. (it didnt look as if he had tried) then he immediately started offering me free labor if I bought the parts.(in my eyes thats a sign that he knows hes at fault). I claimed that he was ripping me off and I left. during all of our last talk he was yelling and swearing at me too. I would like my money back. it is quite fraudulent for me to pay hundreds of dollars to a company and get a bad product.Desired Settlement: I want my money back so I can pay a reliable transmission shop to rebuild my transmission.
