The mirror support was broken, they hold the mirror onto dresser. I told her I would fix the supports and then she said her finish was scratched on the side of her mirror. She was fine with me touching it up and fixing the supports for mirror. We made numerous attempts to connect and she
didn't answer her phone. I am willing to fix what she needs fixing but not get her a new mirrorThe mirror is fine. If she doesn't accept that then I will offer her $to fix the items herself.ThanksTimBrew City Movers

Review: Early -mid Sept I called Brew City Movers for an es[redacted]ate for moving from a 3 bdrm house in Jefferson to another 3 bdrm house approximately 1 mile away in Jefferson. I told [redacted] all the major items that needed moving and he told me: $50 flat-rate trip charge (no matter the distance), and 3 men for $120/hr rounded to the 15 min interval. He also told me they wrap dressers and mirrors so they won't get damaged moving through hallways, etc. I agreed to use them and he said they could move us at 10am on Sept 20, 2014. I was to get a confirmation call the 17th or 18th he said. I never got a call and called him myself the 19th to confirm.

They didn't show up until about 11:15 am, came with 4 guys which I thought was actually a nice surprise at the moment and they immediately started moving us out lightening quick. I was happy then. After an hour or so I could tell the extra man had no idea what he was doing like he may not have even worked for them and was tagging along. He was friendly but he was handling things unprofessionally and kept being told to do something or do it differently. He was more of a hazard. My dressers were never wrapped. They had no wrapping with them. I heard dropped things on the stairs as they worked too fast at [redacted]es. Thank goodness we moved the mirrors ourselves, not trusting anyone else with them. Turns out my husband's dresser had 2 scrapes on the front of them, my dresser had 2 chips in the wood on one drawer, they knocked a piece of wood trim off our stairway wall, that I had to reattach myself, they left a large blood smear on the woodwork outside my son's bedroom doorway which I wiped away. They went on lunch and said they'd be back in about a half hour. It was at least 45 minutes before they came back. Their "guy" that fixes furniture knicks finally came out 1 month later to touch up the dressers after a few different phone calls from my end. It was ok, not great, but better than knicked.

Then they were done by about 5:45pm. That is 5 hrs 45 min if you remove their lunch break. Every 15 min costs $30 and tax. Then the trip charge he put $70. When I told him he said $50, he said Jefferson is $70 and they had to drive back to the old house (1 mile away) for a second load which was an extra $20. I was told it was a one-[redacted]e flat rate of $50 on the phone when he knew it was Jefferson. The trips between houses were to be at the hourly rate. I texted/called him a few [redacted]es asking him to recalculate the bill and he said he'd look into it and let me know and never ever called or texted back. He never answers his phone, I had tried with reasonable lengths of [redacted]es between messages (weeks).

So beyond the lateness, damaged items, and poor communication, I was overcharged. When he was writing the bill he tried to charge the total of $810! When I unhappily questioned it, he immediately dropped it $40 like he knew it was too high and had no good explanation. I am still overcharged about $30 for the trip charge. They also lost the screws for the back of our dresser mirror when they unmounted it. They said the screws were left on the window sill in my old house but they were nowhere to be found.Desired Settlement: A refund of AT LEAST $30 to honor the pricing he quoted me as his standard pricing and for the multiple mistakes made along the way.

$120 *6= 720, minus 15 min to equal the actual 5 hrs 45 min work [redacted]e (-$30)= $690, plus $50 flat-rate trip charge= $740. We paid $770 even after his dropping the $40 when writing the bill. It does not appear his bill normally includes any tax, like the charges include that in the pricing since there is no tax written on the bill.

We hired Brew City Movers to pack and move our household on 11/14/14. What a great experience! When we called for an estimate we got very approximate idea of the cost over the phone and then they came over for a more accurate one. They did not differ wildly. It's apparent right away that they really know their business. Everyone was just so darn friendly and accommodating. Everything was packed and moved safely and professionally. The mover/packers were wonderful and fun to be around. Did I say fun? Moving can be fun? Well, no. Moving is not fun but the packer/movers were fun and made my experience as painless as possible. The estimate we got was only a couple hundred less than the actual cost and it was worth every penny. Thank you Brew City Movers!

Review: The week of August 11, 2013, I was trying to locate a reputable company that would be able to move my mom. While talking with my niece regarding the upcoming move she mention that Brew City Movers might be a consideration as she heard they were pretty good. Upon this recommendation, I gave Brew City Movers a call on Tuesday August 13, 2013, requesting their services for 8am Saturday ,August 17, 2013, at [redacted]. [redacted](I believe is his name), with Brew City Movers, suggested 9:30am as a better move [redacted]e for his men, I accepted. I also ask if there might be a problem dropping the fridge that I purchased from my mom off at my home on 48th street, and was informed that it would not be a problem because they were being paid by the hour. He went on to explained that his company Brew City Movers were bonded/insured. He also, informed me of the cost for the movers. His quote was 2 men and a truck @a cost of $80.00 per hour, and 3 men and a truck@ cost of $100.00 per hour, by phone I agreed upon this rate.

On Saturday August 17, 2013, I was up early and by my mom's prepared for the move. The agreed upon [redacted]e was 9:30am. By 9:45am no one from the moving company call to say that they were running late so, I called and was informed that they were," on another job, which was out of town, and were not sure what [redacted]e they would be returning, possibly an hour or so". No one followed-up to inform me that they would not be able to move me that day. I called around 11:45am, only to get an apology that they would not able to make the move as agreed. I was asked by the moving company if it would be alright that the move take place the following day Sunday at what ever [redacted]e I choose. I said that would be fine and I would like that they arrive at 8:am on Sunday morning. Terry countered and said that 8:30am would be best. At this point, [redacted]e was not on my side. When Sunday morning arrived I had to call the moving company again around 8:45am to find out what was going on and why had they not yet arrived. I was informed that they were on the way. They arrived about 10 minutes later. Totally unprofessional! I do not understand why it is such a problem for companies to follow-up on business matters. It is not a free assignment, you are being paid. The complaint is the movers took the fridge that I purchased from my mom to my house for delivery. They did not come prepared with the tools necessary to remove the rear door to get the fridge in the house. In the process the movers damaged(broke the line on the rear of the fridge that causes the fridge to freeze, I am told by my daughter and brother). My daughter called while this was happening to informed me that they did not have the proper tools to remove the door so, they began forcing the fridge into the door way and the damage occurred. She also stated that one of the workers made the statement that it was already broken, and she quickly corrected him. My daughter gave the phone to the mover he asked," what did I want them to do with the fridge, and I informed him that it was to go in the garage until someone from his company comes out and views the damage to decide if there would be repairs or purchase.

The driver returned to my mom's house where the move occurred at 3:05pm and sat in the truck until 3:25pm creating the invoice (poorly written out). He wanted to change the price agreed upon by phone from $100.00 per hr. to $110.00 per hour which I was not going to pay. He also was trying to charge me an additional 30minute fee for sitting in the truck while he created the invoice.

When the trucker gave me the invoice, #520779, that I could barely read, I paid him $600.00 cash. I also asked that they send me a better copy in the mail. Never received!, but agreed to send. I clearly spoke with him about the incident and he agreed that there was no damage prior to them doing the damage because all the items in the freezer part of the fridge were frozen and placed in bags for moving. I also wrote on the invoice that," we broke line on fridge repair/replace as a notification to the owner that damage had been done by movers. Also, when I arrived at my mom's home the foot of her head board had been chipped at the bottom. I also informed Terry of this.

I call Terry and ask If his workers informed him that he had broken the line on the rear of my fridge and he said, "no!, this of course was a lie, also. It was written at the bottom of the invoice. How does one take money and not notice the comment on the invoice. I have called Brew City Movers numerous [redacted]e trying to settle this matter. I have reached the point that I am being ignored and I do not like this! Terry, even set-up a [redacted]e when he would be coming out to view the damage. He never showed up nor have he called. When I call, and my name appears I get the feeling the company does not want to address the issue. I have some one else call and they pick-up the call.Desired Settlement: That the owner Repairs/Refund the above items and stop ignoring the problem. I am yet without a fridge.

Response:

Louise and I agreed to a $300 reimbursement for her fridge damage.

I still would like to say that they did a great job and that we were well pleased with this company. A big plus in our move.
