Brian Center Nursing Care Reviews (1)

Review: I have been receiving threatening letters about a bill that I do not owe. It is in fact the responsibility of the Brian Center to obtain funding through Medicaid for nursing home care for a family member (they failed to file proper documentation to renew her Medicaid coverage). I have tried to assist them in everyway possible to obtain information that they say they need although it is not my responsibility in any way.I have called or returned calls from them many times on this issue and they say that they understand that I am not responsible but I continue to get these letters. They have lost important information concerning power of attorney and responsibilities as well as "misplacing" a cash Christmas gift to my sister for which I have a receipt dated 12 December 2014 but they have still not resolved.I have made multiple attempts to talk to their administrator since the business manager does not seem to be able to resolve these issues on her own. I have also requested and tried to find regional offices to discuss this issue but either have not been able to find numbers or get through a call. This has been going on since about Sep 2014 with several calls to the facility business manger each month--in which she says it will be resolved but then I get another threatening letter.I would like this issue resolved and I find it interesting that I cannot get through to anyone in the Brian Center administrative chain that can assist me.I have been told that the administrator's name is Josh D[redacted] but I cannot call him directly or even now access his voice mail.I have professional experience dealing with nursing homes and am aware that this lack of responsibility should not be considered acceptable by a reputable company.Desired Settlement: Stop sending me threatening letters demanding a payment that I do not owe and is not owed by my sister's estate. Insure that a bogus credit report is not put on my record.

From: [redacted] Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 3:54 PMTo: Kelly MaceCc: [redacted]Subject: Response to letterImportance: HighDear Ms. Mace and [redacted], First let me apologize for any misunderstandings that may have arisen from this situation. I wanted to let you know what has been done to achieve a mutually beneficial desired outcome for everyone. Ms. [redacted] was listed as financial POA and that was the reason for the letters being sent. They are sent not by the Brian Center Lexington, but instead by our billing and collections office located in Baltimore. Bills will go out whether $.01 or $1,000,000 is owed on a residents account and someone who is listed as POA for a resident automatically gets copied on the bill. I have rectified this at the facility and your name has been removed as POA and the Baltimore office notified, so as to prevent further letters being sent. We have made every effort to assure Ms. [redacted] receives no statements and nothing will be put on her credit report as a result of anything from the Brian Center. There may be another bill sent for April, so please just disregard. The nursing home cannot process a Medicaid redetermination if it does not have all the information. The resident did not give the facility bank statements it needed or proof of account closure for the Medicaid office to proceed with redetermination of Medicaid benefits. Thankfully, Ms. [redacted] stepped in and handled this for us. The Medicaid has been approved, billed and will retro back to December to cover residents accrued expenses. The facility did have the funds of the resident, however the resident deceased and the accounts payable department out of Houston had to reissue a check to estate of the resident. This check was sent to the clerk of court in Davidson county for disbursement. If you have any questions, I am always accessible via cell phone or email. Thank you! Josh Joshua R.
