I am rejecting this response because: MrHimpel either does not remember or is lying. It is impossible that he did not get any of my messages. You can see in the phone records that I provided that he called me back from his personal cell phone number and spoke to me about the repairs not being suitable days after he cameNot weeks laterI wrote a check because he was standing there with a bill and I assumed he had dont the job I hired him to dodays later when the drain was clogged and the odor was still there is when I calledHe told me he would come back to put silicone around the pump top for no chargeI paid him money to fix an odor and he didn't do it. To whom it may concern,
On or around October 27th 2014 I was contacted by Miss [redacted] telling me there was a hole on the pump in the basement and a smell was coming from it. I informed her the price would be $145.00 to come out and install a plug to cap the...

hole. She also informed me she had a slow tub drain on the 2nd. floor. I infromed her that I would be able to take care of that also when I came out. We set it up for me to come out on Thursday October 30, 2014. I did infact plug the hole on the pump pit, and I snaked the tub, which she told me to go ahead after I gave her the price.  I showed her that the tub was draining fine when I was done, and no smell was coming from the pump area. Miss [redacted] wrote me the check and was very happy. I also gave her a price for installing a new faucet on her powder room sink which she told me she would like to do before Christmas.      Three weeks later or so, she calls me and tells me the tub is draining slow again, and she still has smell from pump. I informed her that I can come back out but she will be charged again. It states on my paperwork, that I DO NOT warranty stoppages. (I do not know what customers are putting into there drains). She also informed me that there is still a smell. I told her that the pump pit cover might need a new gasket installed, but again, she would be charged for it. She told me she would get back to me.
Then, I recieve this complaint. Ok, Who is going to go to a customers house and install a plug, and snake a drain for $145.00? Most guys charge minimum $215.00 to snake a tub. I charged her $145.00 and gave her a break because I was already there.
I have been in business for over 18 years and have been a member of the Revdex.com for many years. I have an A+ rating. I am an honest company that does great work at a fair price. My phone never stops ringing. I am very busy. Look at my record. I think I have only had 3 complainst against me in about 10 years. I am hoping the Revdex.com sees that this is just a customer who is looking to get work done for free. My record speaks for itself.
Thank you so much, and feel free to contact me with an update to this.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Mr. Himpel either does not remember or is lying. It is impossible that he did not get any of my 7 messages. You can see in the phone records that I provided that he called me back from his personal cell phone number and spoke to me about the repairs not being suitable 2 days after he came. Not 3 weeks later. I wrote a check because he was standing there with a bill and I assumed he had dont the job I hired him to do. 2 days later when the drain was clogged and the odor was still there is when I called. He told me he would come back to put silicone around the pump top for no charge. I paid him money to fix an odor and he didn't do it.
If Mr. Himpel does not agree to any type of refund, than I believe the Revdex.com should change his rating. An A+ business would not overcharge, do half-[redacted] work, and ignore their customers calls. Charging someone and not doing a proper repair is a scam and should not be an accredited business.

On July 15, 2016 I went to [redacted] home for a leaking toilet. He informed me his daughters toilet was leaking. He said another plumber was out there to fix it, but it was still leaking. I removed the toilet, and realized the wax seal was not installed right, so I installed a new deep wax...

seal, johnny bolts, and water supply line to reset daughters toilet. While I was there, I also pulled, and reset another toilet. On Monday morning July 18th, I checked my answering machine and found a message from [redacted] saying toilet in daughters bathroom was still leaking.( My answering machine message states that any call coming in after 5pm. will be returned the next business day). I called him and went out to his home. I removed toilet and found a crack in the bottom of the toilet. At that point I informed him he needed a new toilet. I informed hime that I could get him a new toilet and install it for $525.00 plus tax. I informed him if he wanted the same toilet that was in daughters bathroom it would be $725.00 plus tax. [redacted] informed me to install the less expensive toilet. I went to my supply house, picked up new toilet and came back to his home. I returned to his home, showed him the new toilet and he said he liked it and I installed it. He also informed me of another toilet that needed to be pulled and reset. I told him because I had already charged to pull and reset daughters toilet, that I would pull and reset powder room toilet at no charge. [redacted] was happy, wrote me a check and me and my helper left.
That evening [redacted] sent me a text (which I have) saying " I hate to be a pain, but my wife is disappointed with the toilet because it does not look the same". (again, after 5pm, I do not see messages until the next day).
The next morning at 7:21 am. M[redacted] text me again asking to call asap. I informed him I was in a class until 5pm and would call then. my phone died and I text him back the next morning. He asked me to call him and I did. He got loud and rude with me, and wanted me to install a different toilet at same cost which I informed him I would not. I told him I could install a toilet to match what he had, but he would have to pay the $200.00 difference and he refused.
Over the next few days, [redacted] sent me 21 text messages. I had to finally go to the [redacted] police department to get him to stop. They called hem and informed him to stop.
[redacted] stopped payment on the check. I am in the process now of filing the paperwork to take [redacted] to court.
If you look in the Connecticut plumbing code book, it states that one a fixture is installed in a customers home, it cannot be removed and installed in another customers home. It is a used toilet and [redacted] wanted me to take it back. That I cannot or will not do.
Also, [redacted] informed me that he has had always had trouble with contractors....I wonder why?
[redacted] seems to be a customer that you cannot make happy. And I hope that the Revdex.com will see through him and see that I have an A rating for a reason.
Thank You,

Review: I hired Brian Himpel to fix an odor coming from my sewage pump. He told me the price would be $149 to put a rubber plug in the pump top. I told him I also needed my bathtub unclogged. He told me he would take care of the clog when he came to fix the pump but did not specify a price. After completing the job, which took less than 45 minutes, he gave me an invoice for $308 which was double the price he originally told me. This was very shocking to me however I paid him and he was on his way.

The next day the odor was still coming from the pump and the tub was still not draining properly. I called him and told him he would need to come fix the problem. He said he would come sometime during that week. He never came. I followed up again and he again said he would come and didn't. The third week of not coming to fix what I paid him for, he all together stopped returning my phone calls. I called and left at least 6 messages asking him to return my phone call. This has been going on for at least 3 weeks.

I feel that I was severely overcharged and paid him for a job that he did not complete.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for $308. I paid him to fix a problem and I still have a sewage odor and a clogged bathtub. I do not feel comfortable having this man back in my home to complete this job.

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: Mr. H[redacted] was hired on 12/31/2014 to fix the clogged sink in my kitchen. In an unrelated situation, my refrigerator was pulled out of its spot, into the room, and at an angle. It partially blocked the right door for accessing under the sink. As I was explaining the situation to Mr. H[redacted], he pushed the refrigerator sideways and got to work.

It wasn't until after he finished that I saw a gouge in my new floor, right where he had pushed the refrigerator. I showed it to him, and he said to let him know how much it would be to get it fixed. I felt bad for him, since he wouldn't have caused the gouge if the refrigerator was where it belonged. I said that I would see if the "box" store, which had created my refrigerator issue, would pay fixing the floor. If not, I would contact him. The issues with the box store dragged on for several more months, When it was resolved, I didn't have the energy to deal with them anymore. It was Mr. H[redacted] who caused the gouge. He shouldn't have pushed the refrigerator sideways. They are not designed to move that way.

I made several calls to Mr. H[redacted], leaving messages. Mr. H[redacted] never responded. On 7/20/2015, I sent him a letter ... no response. I made several more calls ... no response. In my last message, I said that if I didn't hear from him, I would make a complaint of the Revdex.com website ... no response. There are two possible reasons for no response ... 1) he doesn't care about his reputation or good Revdex.com rating, or 2) he didn't think I would follow through.

The repair cost $125. If I don't get the reimbursement after this complaint, I will consider taking him to court, which could cost him a lot more than $125.Desired Settlement: I want Mr. H[redacted] to reimburse me the $125 that it cost me to have the floor fixed (which he damaged).
