Brian Jones Motorsports Reviews (1)

Review: Brian Jones Motorsports, more specifically, [redacted], sold me a vehicle. Within three days of driving the vehicle, I started having really bad trouble. I went to [redacted] about it and all he wanted to do was tell me how messed the vehicle was that I sold him and exactly how to fix the truck I bought like he worked for GM for 30 years. He was good about it at first and got me to take it to a shop of his choice where it sat for a week, and didnt provide me a vehicle to drive. They replaced a lifter and pushrod and I found out later that the shop told Brian Jones it needed all the lifters but he only wanted to pay for one. So after a week, I got my truck back. Three days later it was doing the same thing. So I took to the shop of my choice and got my extended warranty to fix it. At the shop, they discovered I needed a motor. So three weeks into buyin an almost 20k dollar truck with only 124k miles, it needs a new motor. Brian Jones sold me a bad truck, ive had it over a month and nothing to drive. Also, the truck I traded them, I told them everything that was wrong with it. It NEEDS a mew wheel baron cause its about to break. Its out there on the lot now and the front driver side tire is leaning bad. If somebody buys that, they cluld get killed when that baron goes out. I know all the problems with that truck and I told him clearly that I was rough on it. He wanted to talk to me like a dog for giving him a piece of junk. He lost all my respect. And the shop my new truck is in told me they had THREE vehicles bought from Brian Jones in the past two months. They are absolutely crooked.Desired Settlement: My truck will have a brand new motor now, no thanks to Brian Jones Motorsports. But, because they sold me junk, I payed 19,000 dollars and have nothing to drive. I would never ask for anything because im a humble person, but for a deal like this, I would like the money back. They can even have their truck back.

Response:

It's Brian from Brian Jones Motorsports Inc. I am responding to a complaint from [redacted] based on a vehicle purchase from our dealership on 1-12-2015. I specifically remember this particular vehicle which was a 2007 Chevy Silverado. I specifically remember this vehicle because I personally put over 200 miles on it before it was offered for sale. The vehicle was a local trade in at a franchise dealer here in town. It is our policy to determine any re-conditioning necessary before these vehicles are put on the lot for sale. This particular vehicle was nearly perfect during the time I was driving it. I determined it needed one tire which was mismatched. The vehicle was detailed after and offered for sale. We spend tens of thousands of dollars a year reconditioning our vehicles and ion nearly six years of business have never had a serious complaint. We have even been offered AAA status by the Revdex.com in past years. Please note that this vehicle in was sold AS/IS to Mr. [redacted] as are all of our vehicles which have over 100,000 miles. the vehicle in question actually had 123,000 miles. I only mention this because I had no obligation legally to fix any issues once this vehicle left out lot. After purchase date Mr. [redacted] returned with complaints about how this vehicle performed. As a good faith measure I instantly sent Mr. [redacted] to a third party shop we use for many of our larger repairs. It was determined that a lifter in the engine had gone bad. I replaced the lifter paid for the parts and all labor at a cost of $900.00. The reason one lifter was replace is because I was told by my repair shop and an ASE certified mechanic that this lefter was specifically the one which was bad and was causing problems in question. I never hesitated in making this decision O never asked Mr. [redacted] to contribute to any money towards the repair at all I simply did it because I believed it to be the right thing to do.In response to Mr. [redacted] allegations that his trade in was put on the lot in dangerous conditions I would like to respond by saying that we instantly sent Mr. [redacted]s Dodge truck for inspection at a third party shop and performed all the repairs recommended. These repairs were extensive and far beyond any indication Mr. [redacted] had indicated. We have receipts on file totaling over $800 that is the commitment we made to ensure the vehicle in question was in re-sellable condition. It is apparent Mr. [redacted] is upset and I am truly sorry for that. But from the beginning of this incident it has been our intention to treat Mr. [redacted] fairly and honestly. I believe it is fair to say we have even gone well past what many of out peers would have done in this situation. I would also like to note that on return visits to our dealership it was apparent to two of our employees that the truck Mr. [redacted] purchased was very muddy on the exterior and interior indicating that it had recently been in a significant amount of mud. Also employees of the repair facility have indicated to me that upon leaving the shop Mr. [redacted] on two occasions left their facility spinning tires and driving erratically. I can provide signed statements that corroborate this. I have no way of knowing if the way this truck is being driven has nay relation to the trucks problems. I can with no reservations that this vehicle was in exemplary condition when it left our business. I am so sorry Mr. [redacted] is unhappy. In closing I would like to say that I do not think it's fair that any one can complain to the Revdex.com regardless of the validity of their claim and potentially damage the reputation of a business which has worked diligently over the years to cultivate a great reputation. Car dealers have to work even harder than most to cultivate a good reputation and this is something we strive for every day. I would hope that any of our customers selected at random would testily that we in fact go overboard to provide a great atmosphere and experience here at Brian Jones Motorsports.Thank you for the opportunity to defend myself.Brian T. Jones
