We (spouse and myself) decide to rebuild a farm house destroyed by fire. Stratford Homes representative introduces us to Brian Luedtke & Associates. We are assured they (Luedtke & Associates) are knowledgeable capable of providing a good quality product. After approximately seven months our house is ready for the Sewer/Water hook up. Originally the Luedtke quote is for $900.00 each. However, on or about June 6, 2017 we receive a contractor quote for $13,623.00 interesting. When asked for details or a second quote I received no satisfaction. Good luck.
Dave, I am sorry you're are disappointed in the outcome of the sewer and water connection fees. We do the best we can to understand the "specific site conditions" before we start a project. It is unfortunate that the lateral connections to your existing home were sold to a neighbor prior. Doing so forced you to bear the cost of reconnecting in the street versus the traditional at the lot line. I was not part of that land sale and do not know how I could be held liable for the previous actions of others. In regards to a second estimate. The county has rules and bonding requirements in place that have to be met before preforming any work in a county highway public right of way. That eliminates most of the options in a small town. We provided you with a contractor that had worked with both the the local sewer and water municipality and the county for which the work in the road was to be preformed. I believe that the local contractor hired to construct the laterals completed the work promptly and the associated bill to do so was fair.
