I came up to Chicago from TN for my cousins funeralThe funeral home is Fountain Jordan Sheperd at SCicero AvenueHowever, this Brian Johnson Funeral Services is who was conducting out of this funeral homeMy cousins eldest son is who was in charge of decisions concerning her arrangementsHer son signed paperwork for them to release her body to them and that was the last time he had any dealings with themMy cousins boyfriends mother was contacted for every decision thereafterThe boyfriends mother was a friend of the funeral business owners and because of that connection, she was the one they consulted with over decisions, not my cousins sonHe was never given an itemized invoice about the servicesHer son had to pick up the printed obituaries himself from the printing companyMy cousins body was held there for weeks before services were conductedThe day of the funeral her body wreaked of embalming fluid which leads me to think that they didn't embalm her body until the day beforeThe family was told that we could not view her until after 5:00pm the night before the funeralThe funeral home did not do proper makeup or hairstylingThey wanted $more dollars to do itThe marquee inside the funeral home never had her name listedThere was no police escort to the grave siteThe day before the funeral, the boyfriends mother contacted my cousins eldest son and said that the funeral home wanted $more dollars for a bigger casket to be paid on the day of funeral or they would not perform servicesThe funeral service was only hour and the staff closed the casket without letting the family do a final walk by her to say goodbyeHer son confronted the staff that was closing the casket and they told him that for another minutes of viewing that they would charge him $I have never witnessed a funeral as emotionally distressing and unorthodox as this oneWe as a family are very upset over this entire messDo not use this business to lay your loved one as a final resting place before burial
