I began working with the complainant after she had been 'ripped off' by two other developersI quoted her at $500, however agreed to lower my price to $when she told me that she had spent most of her budget on the previous developersI
began working on this project immediatelyI typically ask for 50% up front, however she told me she only had $in her paypal account, which I acceptedAfter working for only a day, she texted me requesting a refund, and accused me of 'wasting her time'After a brief conversation she apologized, and stated that she was a bit stressed because of her previous experiencesI continued to work on her website, and after putting up a preliminary live version of the site, spent the good part of the night on the phone with her, changing aspects of the site, and more often than not, changing them back to the way they wereAfter spending the rest of the night cleaning up the layout, I spoke with her the next dayShe told me how much she liked what she saw, and even mentioned that her mother had seen the site, and also liked itShe seemed very enthusiastic about what was being built
I told her the day before this that I was about two days from completing the site, however, after the time that I spent on the phone with her, was not able to meet that deadlineI contacted her the two nights later because I was no longer able to access her *** account to upload the finished siteShe stated that she would contact ***, as a previous developer was 'changing her passwords to get back at her'I woke up the next morning and checked my email to see if she had sent the login information, only to find an email calling me a liar, accusing me of wasting her time, and threatening to call the police on me for 'theft of services'I emailed her back to explain that I was confused, as the night before she had told me that she would provide me with the login information to upload the siteI also explained that the site was completed, and that all I needed was the login information to upload itShe refused, and demanded a refundI explained to her that I had put in the work, and was ready, willing, and able to deliver the agreed upon productShe again demanded a refund, and again threatened to do everything from have me arrested, to ruin my career if I did not refund her moneyAfter spending almost a week on this website, for an already diminished rate, I informed her that I had fulfilled my end of the agreement, and if she did not want the website, that was up to her, however I did need to be paid as was previously agreedShe became irrational, and continued to threaten me if her money was not refunded
I have no intention of refunding her money, as she still owes me an additional $for the website that I built, and the time that I spent building it.The only thing that prevented her from receiving the website was her refusal to allow me to upload it to her serverI still have all of the files for the website, and am ready and willing to upload it to her server as soon as she provides me with the login information for ***, or an email address to send the files toI do, however, have my reservations about her paying me the remaining fees for the work that I have done once she has the completed siteIt is, in my opinion, unreasonable for her to request my services, and then decide she wants a refund after I have put in the time and work to fully create the websiteI am more than happy to provide references to previous clients who will attest to the fact that I am honest, fair, and professional in my workThe complainant decided that she wanted a refund after the site was completedAt this point, there is nothing I can doIf she does not want the finished product simply because she assumes that I do not have it, that is her choice, however I can not lose money on top of the time that have I wasted on a site that I assumed I was going to be compensated for building
