The Utv was brought in by Mr. ***. We were not made aware that the Utv belonged to someone else. I feel as though the communication between the two Spanish speaking individuals got misunderstood as far as what the machine was needing. I was told by Mr.to fix the machine as cheaply as possible at that point but we were instructed to proceed with repairs. We then rebuilt the entire motor which includes pistons, cylinder, rods, bearings, seals, and gaskets as needed. At that time the customer was made aware that the motor needed a new camshaft and balance shaft because they were worn beyond factory specs. The customer chose not to replace items against my suggestion, to save money. After the work was completed the customer was informed that he could pick up the machine and what he owed at that point. Mr. showed to pick up the Utv and was informed to carefully break in the new motor with instructions for that. At that point, he proceeded to drive the unit erratically behind my store. He was then told again not to put that much skess on the new motor. At the time of pick up the motor did start to miss fire and not run properly so I informed Mr. that I would need I keep the machine and diagnose the problem in which turned out to be the cranl‹position sensor which is located outside the motor and does not get replaced in a motor rebuild as it is located outside the motor. I then informed MR. that the machine needed this sensor and I was instructed to go ahead with repairs. The customer was informed of the cost at that time. He did not have any complaints at that time. After we repaired the machine with the sensor and test rode the machine we notified Mr. that the utv was running great and was ready to be picked up. At that time he did still owed for the repair that I had allowed to be paid out over this period of time with no penalties. I usually require half down to begin repair on any unit. When The Utvwas picked up by Mr. on 11-3-2018 the unit was in great running condition with exception to the crank balance noise and countershaft noise which he was made aware of. Mr. paid his bill and took the machine. To this date, I have not been made aware of any further problems in which I would have been glad to have addressed. We have been in business for 21 years and we don’t like to see our customers unhappy. I wish he would have contacted us to allow us to resolve this.
