Dear *** ***,We apologize for the experience.The staff that was to serve breakfast had a family emergency with her child and so was at the hospital and was unable to serve breakfast.The toilet seat was okay the day you were to check in per the housekeeper, maybe it broke later.I am sorry you feel
this way. We will refund for one and half night. The form you signed indicated that once you check into a roomthe payment is non-refundable.We will take care of this by weeks end. We do not get paid from the credit card company for business days after we process a payment and are unable to refund until payment goes through.Appreciate your patience.SincerelyVerindar

Hi,Yes we received the deposit but it is non refundable and [redacted] was informed about the deposit being non refundable.[redacted] called several times to put the deposit down.I informed her that it is non refundable.In fact, I took a smaller amount of the deposit.  And [redacted] said are you sure...

you do not want to take the full $500 and I said no.In fact, [redacted] was insisting that we take the full amount.I will contact her shortly as it has been very busy.  [redacted] knows that even to take the deposit, I called her after she called many times.Thank you for following up. SincerelyVerindar

Review: On the evening of 19 July I checked into the brick hotel with my wife and two sons. We had requested a cot in the room which was added. However there were only towels for two people. The room was stifling hot so I turned on the air conditioning unit. Despite turning it up all night long it did not cool the room. It was in the nineties outside this day. We were all sweating and were not able to sleep. There was no one at the front desk to complain to. We had brought chocolates we purchased in Canada valued at approximately $100 U.S. into the room to prevent them from melting in the car. These became a huge mess leaking from their packages and no longer able to be used as gifts for our family and friends. . In the morning again there was no one to complain to. I have tried calling the hotel and emailing and am ignored. I contacted my [redacted] card and they told me that they will not refuse charges because we stayed over 30 minutes. If we had known there was no air conditioning we would never have gone to this hotel. The room had peeling wallpaper and was in disrepair as well and for this we were charged over $170 for the night.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money I spent to stay at this hotel. We were not able to sleep, there was no service and my chocolates were completely ruined.

The guest checked in the evening. The guest claimed room was hot. The guest did not come to the front desk or call the front desk to voice his concerns.

The manager and staff were in the B & B until midnight that day.

The guest only complained in the morning at check out.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: We had a late check in and went out to dinner at 10 PM. By the time we came back there was no one at the front desk. This is completely false information. There was no one at the front desk in the morning when we checked out either so we were not able to complain at that time. We intend to follow up by informing local newspapers and t.v. outlets about this hotel as well as the health department and our attorney who is willing to file to get our money back if we do not get a refund. We will also file for our attorney fees and court costs if we need to go to this extreme. This is completely unacceptable that we had no air conditioning and were unable to sleep and our chocolates melted and were ruined. The hotel was in shabby disrepair as well and there was loud music coming from downstairs that we were able to hear in our room. We had hoped to resolve our problems the easy way, but after getting no response personally from the owner and then her refusal to respond in a proper manner through the Revdex.com we will have to explore other options. It is completely unacceptable to charge people for this shoddy service. If the owner wishes for us to continue along other avenues that is what we will do. We feel the public needs to know about this hotel so they can make an informed decision not to stay there. We were willing to drop it if given a refund, but considering what we went through and the way the owner has responded we will pursue everything we can against this hotel. Thank you so much for trying to resolve this matter for us.
