I am responding to the complaint of *** *** in
regards to the Product Issue complaint, ID # ***. The customer purchased her wedding gown from
our sale selection which is all sold As Is, as she had stated in her complaint
she understood. The price of the gown
reflects
the condition that the gown was sold inAny cleaning, re-beading, or
alterations would be an extra fee for a discounted dress. She also signed a sales contract, which under
section states:
Once a garment leaves
the shop, seller is not responsible for any damages or flaws in the
merchandise. It is imperative that the
customer inspect the garment prior to removal of the item from the shop, as
there are no refunds, returns, or exchanges and will bar the buyer from
claiming breach of any implied warranty.
The customer called almost months after the gown had been
removed from our store to complain about the condition of her As Is gown. We were happy to help with any of her needs,
whether it be cleaning or alterations, but unfortunately, the customer was not
happy that she had to pay for such services.
By definition As Is means that we do not
guarantee the condition of property or that the property is free from
defect. It is not our responsibility if
the customer did not inspect the dress before removing from the property and do
not agree that the customer is entitled to any further discounts on the dress
