On November **, 2014, [redacted] , a bride, came into our store. Her wedding is in October 2015. At that time, she placed an order for a bridesmaid gown for her cousin, [redacted] . [redacted] lives 2+ hours away from the store and, therefore, could not make it in to the store in person to have her... measurements taken. Each dress manufacturer has their own size chart. The size ordered is dependent on the measurements taken or given to us at the time of sale. [redacted] did not have, or give us, any measurements for this bridesmaid gown she was ordering. As per the contract that [redacted] signed, it states that the "bride requested size". Without any measurements, we could not possibly know what size her bridesmaid would need, or even know what size to suggest to her to order. It was made clear to [redacted] that the size decision was up to her. She not only signed the contract, but she also initialed that as the customer, she was requesting the size. In addition, she also initialed that she, as the customer, assumed the responsibility for the size she was ordering. As far as alterations are concerned, we supply alterations as a service to our customers. No one is ever obligated to have their alterations done here. Since [redacted] lives 2+ hours from our store and couldn't make it here to order her gown because we were too far away, why would we assume that she would have her alterations done here. Hence her statement, "I realize the reason they did this is so I can pay for excess alterations so they can make more money off of me," doesn't make any sense. As stated on our contract, dresses are special order and cannot be cancelled, and the sale is final. No cash refund given. No cancellation, exchanges, or credit is allowed. Purchaser agrees to pay balance and pick up merchandise by original event date. The complainant, [redacted] , had no dealings with Bridal Suite of Centereach. She dealt with the bride, [redacted] . The bride signed the contract, and the bride left the deposit. On May *, 2015, the balance of the gown was paid for in cash; and the gown was picked up. As stated, [redacted] is no longer in the wedding party; and, therefore, no longer needs this bridesmaid gown. This is not our issue. We supplied the gown requested and ordered.Thank you for your time regarding this issue.

Review: I am writing to you about my horrible experience with Bridal Suite of Centereach. I was supposed to be in a wedding party for my cousin, [redacted] and I could not make it to try on dresses at this location on the day that the other bridesmaids went, being that I live 2+ hours away from Long Island (I believe it was November **, 2014). They spoke to [redacted] on this day and advised her that if she did not order the dress for me on this day along with the other dresses, I would never be able to order the same dress again because they have to make all of the dresses together in order to get the same fabric. On this day, she ordered Gown number [redacted] in Teal for me in a Size 8. I am a Size 0 in every dress or piece of clothing I've ever owned. I am 110 pounds and only 5'3" yet they convinced [redacted] to order me a size 8. I realize the reason they did this is so I can pay for excess alterations so they can make more money off of me.

Well, I have recently pulled out of the wedding after leaving a $125 deposit on the dress. When [redacted] called Centereach Bridal to ask them to cancel the order, they told her I still had to pay another $125 so I might as well keep the dress. I thought the whole reason of leaving a "deposit" is just in case anything goes wrong, this way they would still have money from me if I do decide that I do not want the dress after they put in the order. They told her I must pay the other half of it no matter what I decided to do with the dress. Well I obviously decided to take the dress since I am paying $250 for it, and I figured I could at least wear it to some occasion later on, but to no big surprise, the dress was gigantic. It is not even close to fitting me, but yet they convinced [redacted] that these sizes run "very differently" and it would be very close to my size. They wrote "Bride requested size" on my invoice to reduce any liability they might have in ordering a dress four sizes too big for me. It is a very clever antic, however it is also deceitful, not to mention unethical. [redacted] did not "request" this size, they told her to order this size.

I now own a Size 8 Dress that I do not fit into because of Centereach Bridal. I would like to point out that on the invoice, my name is listed under "Name", yet my cousin signed the invoice for me and initialized where it says "size is requested by the customer." I never gave [redacted] authority to sign this invoice for me therefore this contract with Centereach is void. I never signed this invoice and never agreed to any of these provisions. I would like a full refund, and I am willing to return the dress to them. I do not want it, nor have I ever worn it, or nor will I ever wear it.

I would like to point out that I have reached out to them to try to rectify the situation,, and I received a very nasty response from them telling me if I had any more questions, to go ask the Bride. I do not have the money to give away $250 for something I will never use, unfortunately I am not in that financial bracket.

I truly do thank you for taking the time to read this and I urge you to please take action in stopping businesses such as this from this deceptive behavior.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for this dress.
