Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Bridal Warehouse breached their contract, and have now changed their story on what took place and it still is not accurateI was willing to work with managerI would have traded the new $gown for a $or less USED display gown that would be closer to ***’s size and be able to be alteredThe manager couldn’t work with me and corporate would not work with meI would have taken a $loss or more and they would have come out fine and it would have been a positive experience for all involved. They reported to *** *** and Revdex.com in writing that *** was measured, shown a size chart from that designer and picked a size from that chart. THAT IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENEDIf she had been measured and shown a size chart to pick from, and told she was responsible for picking her size from chart, there wouldn’t be an issue here We had no experience at this, nothing to go on, nothing for measurements, no size chart to choose from so we had to rely on sales person’s expertise, which is exactly what we didWhen I paid for first half of gown and ready to leave the salesperson said “Oh, you have to sign this , you’ve only paid half, or we can’t order it “From what salesperson said I signed for what I was told - promise payment for other half At no time from when we walked in the door for a to look for a gown to signing contract were we ever told you pick size we aren’t responsibleIt was never mentioned, they made it sound like the contracts were to cover them for money issuesThis is totally misleading in every respect On Bridal Warehouse’s new story - December 30, - the fact is *** was NOT a size 22, as Bridal Warehouse is statingThey brought the size dress for her to see and had to roll it in the back and put or clamps on the gown so she could see what it should look likeBridal Warehouse says file notes said “it fit fairly well”, when actually NO, it did notWe asked twice about ordering a smaller size and were told wedding gowns run smaller and designer’s gown runs different sizes, that we needed an 18, when *** asked again she was told you could downsize gown but couldn’t upsize gown, that *** definitely needed to order an Again, *** was NOT measured, we were NOT given the designers size chart and we were NOT told to pick a size, that Bridal Warehouse not responsible for sizing*** was also pressured from salesperson that with all the June brides she better order now or might not get gown by her July weddingI did not like that tactic, but it worked for Bridal Warehouse. In early April when we paid for the remainder of the dress and was told to sign off on paymentWE HAD TO ASK if *** could try on gown to see how much we needed it to be altered so far When *** put the gown it would stay upThe salesperson’s helping *** gasped and said “you can not loose anymore weight”! At that point she had lost poundsOne of them also said “you need to go to a buffet”, which was not a very nice thing to say to a woman who wants to look beautiful on her wedding dayThere were pins sewn into the gown, so I was upset anyway and was leaving the gown thereThe manager or someone ran in the back were I left gown and got the two pins out, brought it out as we were walking out the door and said we got the pins out, you need to take your gown, it is paid forMy daughter cried on the way home. I called Alterations Specialist at Bridal Warehouse the next day and she said “we can NOT alter this dress sizes, buy a new one”End of Story We ordered it with the understanding it would be altered, I was not fighting getting it altered, as Bridal Warehouse has stated. I did go to store to talk to manager, who was nice but said you have to call corporate, I’m not allowed to take care of customersI couldn’t believe her hands are tied at store level and asked why we couldn’t work a trade on a display gown, I did not ask her to “lie” As far as blasting them over media as manager stated I was doing, that has not been done by me I don’t know at this point how to She gave me the number to call Corporate. The Customer service person would say nothing but “you signed the contract” at least times There was no one at store level or corporate level to discuss anything withThey were not interested. *** drove to Elizabethtown to look at gowns because they had offered her 25% off another one She DID NOT ask to be measured, as Bridal Warehouse has stated, she didn’t know to ask to be measured, the salesperson there measured her first thingAgain corporate has this wrong*** did NOT buy a dress there. When I filed a dispute with *** *** the corporate COO *** *** wrote *** *** and told them that she was measured, picked her size from designer size chart at Louisville store, which was FALSE, and knowing *** WAS measured at Elizabethtown store by salesperson, I knew protocol was not followedI called Customer Service again was told “you signed the contract” She didn’t want to listen to what actually took place and also said “you should have had more common sense” and also “very sorry you are obsessing over this”. This has been a very negative experience for me and trauma for ***The Bridal Warehouse “Creed” is a big jokeWe both have been disrespectedThese things that were said to us are horribleI’ve never been treated this way by a businessI had left the issue of our treatment out of this hoping to settle this with decencyI am and on social security and I still have a $1,double bagged, never touched gown in my closet that I paid forBridal Warehouse has breached their contract, has changed their stories because they know they didn’t follow protocol and I want a full refund of $1,They know this is wrong and they are now all of the sudden back peddling and it is in writingI’m not dropping this caseConsumers need to be protected at some pointI shouldn’t have the burden of bearing their inefficiencies or lack of communication or proper training at the store level.

Date: 05/13/2015 Subject: Case [redacted] Ms [redacted], We are sorry that you have not been satisfied with the customer service you have received from Bridal Warehouse. We also apologize for the original error made that allowed you to select a dress in a color that was not available. Originally each of...

your maids received 20% off their dress. We then realized they did not come in the color you selected and gave each maid an additional 10% off, for a total price reduction of 30%. We also agreed to remove the crinoline at no charge. We did not offer free alterations. Bridal managers have no authority to do this. The manager at the time of your problem was in contact with the home office and two individuals at the home office remember giving her the authority to offer you an additional 10% off and free removal of the crinoline. We also contacted our previous manager that you reference and asked her what you were offered and she said 10% off each dress plus free crinoline removal. No mention of free alterations. We will not be able to pay for your alterations.
Thanks. [redacted] Customer Service Manager

Please let me apologize for the unfortunate event that destroyed your dress. The dress you purchased was discontinued by Bridal Warehouse and had a price reduction of $609.99. You purchased the dress at this reduced...

price.

Discontinued dresses are basically one of a kind dresses. They are available at wonderful prices, but they cannot be ordered at these prices. If ordered they must be ordered at the original full retail price.

I am sorry you did not find a suitable replacement dress in one of our other stores. Since you did not choose another dress we issued you a refund for the full amount of your purchase.

Sincerely,

The fact is she was a size 22 on December 30, 2015.  On May 31, 2016, she was a size 12.  The customer needs to take responsibility for purchasing a gown too early in her weight lose process.  No way could the store determine [redacted]’s size on December 30th and obviously the customer couldn’t either. Timeline for the purchase of [redacted] for [redacted] 12-30-15 Purchased gown             Tried on a size 22, according to file notes it “fit fairly well”, [redacted] told salesperson she was “planning on losing 60 pounds.  She signed a contract for Bridal Warehouse to order her a size 18, which was 2 sizes smaller than the gown she had on. 3/16/16                                          ... Gown received into store   4/8/16                                          ... Gown picked up from store  4/9/16                                                  [redacted] called complaining the gown was big on her. 4/11/16                                 ... Because the gown was out of the store, Bridal Warehouse has a policy that we can not exchange the gown.  A 25% discount was offered on ordering another gown or taking one from our stock. 4/14/16 12:30pm            [redacted]’s mother came into the store to complain about the fact [redacted] was not measured.  With a customer stating she was losing 60 pounds measuring would have not helped her in the decision as to what size gown to order. 4/14/16, 1:45                                       [redacted] called to verify home office number and to say she was disputing her Master[redacted] payment for the gown.  She also said she knew she didn’t have a “leg to stand on” legally. 4/14/16, 2:40                                       She wanted to be sure the store knew how upset she was.  She repeatedly told the manager how wrong our policies are and that [redacted] was going to lose more weight making the gown impossible to alter down to whatever size she may be in June.  She also stated she was currently “blasting us over social media”  She wanted to go over the reason again why we could not take the gown back.  She then asked me to “pretend the gown had not left the store and tell my home office the lie”.  5/31/16                                   ... Visited the Elizabethtown store and asked to be measured to determine a size after trying on gowns.  She measured a size 12.

Our wedding was on a Friday, so I do not understand how our the pants for my fathers suit were "replaced" on Saturday.  Additionally, there was nothing we could do the day of to fix the issues that we have reported.  I did call the warehouse and let them know about this later and spoke with a female employee.  All of these issues have been presented to them and a refund is warranted for this situation. Additionally, when we signed our original contract, we were promised each suit would be about $120 except for the ring bearer's suit, which was supposed to be $70.  Each suit ended up being over $160 and we paid over $90 for the rental of the ring bearer's suit.

The corporate office of Bridal Warehouse is out of touch with their store and their employees.  They AGAIN have sent a statement that my daughter was measured, shown a size chart from designer and chose a size from that chart.  NONE OF THESE, WHICH I ASSUME IS PROTOCOL, HAPPENED. My daughter, me, and her mother in law were there---that did NOT take place. Bridal Warehouse DID pick size for us to order. She told us 3 times that we needed an 18 because it could be downsized but not upsized.  We questioned her 3 times on size and she, all three times said "you need order an 18. Someone doesn't have the story right, who is protecting who here.   We new up front the dress would need to be altered and I called the alterations specialist at the store after dress came in and she said they WOULD NOT TOUCH THE DRESS, buy a new one end of story.  The dress was so big they would not alter it down 4 sizes,  tough luck.  When I paid for the first half of the dress, I was leaving and they said oh, you need to sign contract or we can't order the dress, stating you will pay rest when dress come in.  I signed the contract so they would order dress, I took them at their word that the contract was for paying one half and getting it ordered.  At no time did they measure, or show us a size chart, or say anyting about them not being responsible for suggesting dress size.  This is unethical, I'm out $1400 for a dress that would have never fit my daughter.  Repeated contact with company resulted in nothing but repeated statements above, and insults to me from customer relations.  Their staff is not trained properly and this contract they  have you sign gets them off the hook for any responablility of their stores actions.  They did nothing their contract states they did, mislead me on contract, waiting until I was walking out door, and apparently they get by with it, I'm sure it has happened to customers many many times.
