I have an on location hair and makeup service for bridesWe require contractsReason being, it can be a very wishy washy, emotion fueled
day, so we have to protect ourselves from sudden loss of business due to someone changing their mind last minuteThe contract states twice, that once people have been added for services and the contract turned in, any cancellations will still need to be made by the brideWe also suggest they leave off anyone on the fence to be added laterWe normally use this for the occasional Mom or Maid that changes her mindVery rarely does a bride cancel everything last minuteIn this case we were running a tiny bit behind from a previous booking from downtown where the parking garage under the hotel was full and there was an ironman triathlon blocking the streetsWe did notify her of thisSince we normally tackle huge groups of 8-in a short time finishing her group of with of us in the time frame allotted was not a problem for usUnfortunately the maid of honor called us when we were around the corner to say they were cancelling and had booked elsewhere down the streetSince they called my associate, I pulled over to call them back to let the maid of honor know we had a contract with the bride and if she defaulted on it she would have to pay for all the services stillShe told me I had minutesI explained I would have been there already if I didn't have to pull over to call herWhen we arrived she asked to see the contract, which I showed her both places that clearly spoke of the cancellation policy, in fact the whole reason to have a contract at allShe said she wasn't going to let us in, she didn't trust usI explained again that the bride would get charged for everything on her contract and it would be in her best interest to just let us in and do the servicesShe refused, saying she would deal with me on the following Monday.
I can submit copies of the contract to you if you need and a breakdown of chargesI actually didn't charge her for a lot of things, I discounted by $60, and didn't charge mileageShe states in her complaint she wants her deposit back and to be refunded at least for the gratuityThe gratuity is also in the contract as being part of the service price and she is contractually obligated to pay for that as well.
Please let me know what else you need from meContracts, emails prior, pictures from her trial run, I save everything just in case.
Sincerely,*** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThe contract, which I attached in the initial complaint, does not explicitly state that I am obligated to pay gratuity if I cancel my servicesIt also states in my save-the-date contract that my deposit will be refunded on the day of the wedding if I choose to book their services via the 2nd contract, which I submitted on July via e-mailThere is nothing in the contract that states that I will not receive the deposit if I cancel my servicesThis totals $The business is disregarding that they also breached the contract by not showing up on timeI understand that problems arise, but no other vendors were late to my wedding that dayIt would be prudent of a vendor to plan ahead for traffic, planned events, etc
In addition, the business did not inform me at the point of confirming my contract the time they felt was necessary to complete the services I contractedThe contract states that the owner will work with me to determine the timing based on the wedding timeline, which I included in the contractI did not hear from the owner that any modifications were required, so it was my expectation that it would take the full time from pm - 2:pm to complete the servicesWith that in mind, I do not understand the business' justification that they would have had plenty of time to complete everything, and that I was supposed to understand that without advanced notification at the point of contract signing

There are so many details involved when planning your
wedding.   Brideheads has done so many
wedding parties, that we know just what do to make your day run smoothly. We
require two contracts, one to save your date (we recommend you get this in
ASAP), and one due back to us no later than 60 days prior to your wedding day.
With this save my date contract, you are committed to using our services on your
wedding day. We require $65 deposit to save your date. This is a non refundable
if you decide not to go with our services. When you do book with us, you will
get this back on your wedding day. Wedding parties are required to pay a 15%
gratuity. Mileage is .75 per mile, one way charge only, outside of Madison
only. The bride is responsible for our parking fees as well if they are over
$5.  Now is a good time to let your
attendants know what the payment arrangements for your wedding day need to be.
Whether you are paying, or they are. We require that you make all the necessary
prearrangements, and pay us in full before we leave, or prior to services
rendered. Each service provider is to be paid separately. This means one
payment for the hairstylist, and one for the makeup artist. Please designate
someone to tally up the final bill, either before your wedding day, or on the
wedding day.  These efforts will save
both of us a lot of time, effort, and stress. Please email your contract to [redacted] or mail to:

to pay a deposit with a check, it must be made out to [redacted] please.

[redacted], contact groupon for a refund. You bought it from them, not us, so they take care of refunds, this information is readily available on their website and was printed on your voucher. We don't make $60 we make like $15, so to get the 60, you'd need them, not us. You paid for a full foil that...

doesn't include color in between,  and received color in between. Any time you receive an extra beyond the groupon, you have to pay the extra amount. We will not refund that. [redacted] selected a full highlight service from the online menu, it clearly states the duration if the service being 95 minutes, and gives you the option to add more services. Even though this appointment was scheduled as the last of the evening, she added a cut and conditioning to the notes section, even though that meant the stylist would have to stay past the closing of the salon. It was scheduled at 6:30, we close at 8:00.  The  online system is schedulicity.com and it's the easiest to use, even to book multiple appointments. If [redacted] had a question about booking properly, she should have called us instead of booking 3 hours of services in an hour and a half, then playing dumb about it. We have no problems with groupons, just with people that take advantage of small business owners by use of social media. A hostile response? I received a manic email in the middle of night, containing only pictures and ranting, saying look at this and tell me what you think! Offering me no information whatsoever. If you have an issue, call me, during business hours, and I will do my best to take care if you. This complaint failed  to mention the husband called me as well. I apologized and offered to redo the color stating there was obviously alot of miscommunications via email. [redacted] doesn't want a free redo though. It is standard practice to never give a refund, but a redo with a different stylist or [redacted].

Review: I recently went to this salon for services. They have 2 business in the one salon..one called "brideheads" and one called rockabettys. They are the same address and phone number. A very poor job was done to my hair and I was sent away with dye all over my head ears and neck..and until I pulled my shirt from the wash...a destroyed shirt as well. I sent [redacted] an email that night telling her what happened. I never asked for anything from her, just told her what happened and sent photos with. I ended the email with " tell me what you think of the service I received? " She responded to me with a long, nasty reply...accused me of booking in-correctly, not giving the stylist enough time, and forcing the stylist to stay late. She insulted me repeatedly during this tyrant and blamed ME the customer for everything that happened and then some. She did not offer compensation and only after insulting me, half offered a five minute fix, and I quote " during normal business hours" . I also was asked for additional money for services that was never discussed with me. They said it was for extra dye, but put it on my head and never said it would be extra. Never discussed it with me in any way. Then they put me on the spot to pay it on my way out the door after I had already prepaid. I do not want a fix of any kind from this salon. If they would have offered the fix in the email and that was all...I may have taken that offer. They did not offer it in a way that they wanted to help me. It was an after thought. This owner had the nerve to say..."big deal..it was just some dye on your skin and so what if there are bleeds...I can fix that in five minutes" that was the offer. I want my money back. Not only did they charge me extra for ruined hair, I gave the girl a tip as well. So I paid these ignorant jerks to screw up my hair!? That is the worst part. I tried to tell [redacted] in a nice way that what happened was wrong and she went off on me for sending her a complaint and still has not acknowledged the wrong doing. She used excuses like " if you were too stupid to use the booking program then you should have called. I didn't use their booking program wrong. This was like a scam they are running on people with groupons. False advertising also comes to mind.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of what I paid . $60 for the groupon that I paid for and $15 for the extra charge that was never discussed with me. I do not want the offer of coming back to a salon to have my hair fixed (maybe fixed ) by people who clearly have contempt for their customers, were hostile to me in their response to this issue and are just jerks especially the ones using groupons.

Review: I signed a contract with Brideheads in Madison, WI for my wedding hair and makeup. The contract stated that services would begin at 12 pm CST, and that I would be required to pay for all contracted services in the event of cancellation. My experience with Brideheads, specifically the owner Angela Schulz, was horrific. Angela and the stylist were 45 minutes late to my appointment. I would consider this to be a breach of contract, however the contract does not specifically state that they are required to be on time.We attempted to contact Brideheads via phone at 12:10 pm and 12:30 pm. At 12:10 pm, we received no response. After this, we made alternate arrangements for hair and makeup. At 12:30 pm, we did get an answer but the stylists were still en route. Even though we cancelled the service during the 12:30 pm phone call, the stylists continued to drive to my house. Upon arrival, they attempted to force themselves into our house. When we refused their service, the owner blamed their late-ness on having to pull over to answer our phone call. They also berated our choice to move forward with an alternate service.Brideheads charged me for the full price of the services we contracted plus 15% gratuity ($598), even though they did not provide any services. They also did not refund the initial deposit of $60 I provided to save the date for their services. The vendor took no responsibility for poor outcomes and did not apologize for being late.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the services that were not provided to me. I am most concerned with getting a refund on the gratuity and the deposit that I placed to save the date for their service. Neither of these amounts are specified in the Brideheads contract as requirement payment for cancelled services.

Response:

I have an on location hair and makeup service for brides. We require contracts. Reason being, it can be a very wishy washy, emotion fueled day, so we have to protect ourselves from sudden loss of business due to someone changing their mind last minute. The contract states twice, that once people have been added for services and the contract turned in, any cancellations will still need to be made by the bride. We also suggest they leave off anyone on the fence to be added later. We normally use this for the occasional Mom or Maid that changes her mind. Very rarely does a bride cancel everything last minute. In this case we were running a tiny bit behind from a previous booking from downtown where the parking garage under the hotel was full and there was an ironman triathlon blocking the streets. We did notify her of this. Since we normally tackle huge groups of 8-12 in a short time finishing her group of 5 with 2 of us in the time frame allotted was not a problem for us. Unfortunately the maid of honor called us when we were around the corner to say they were cancelling and had booked elsewhere down the street. Since they called my associate, I pulled over to call them back to let the maid of honor know we had a contract with the bride and if she defaulted on it she would have to pay for all the services still. She told me I had 3 minutes. I explained I would have been there already if I didn't have to pull over to call her. When we arrived she asked to see the contract, which I showed her both places that clearly spoke of the cancellation policy, in fact the whole reason to have a contract at all. She said she wasn't going to let us in, she didn't trust us. I explained again that the bride would get charged for everything on her contract and it would be in her best interest to just let us in and do the services. She refused, saying she would deal with me on the following Monday.
